I bought a 26" Shotgun barrel off the EE
When I look down the top, the rib  goes to the right and then back to the left.
I marked the worst place with the yellow arrow, What say you?

Looks like a left-handed barrel.  Is it metric?

I'd say someone's head hurts after having a shotgun barrel totally ruined over it.

USPS'd, but wouldn't it take a really hard knock?
But the again it wrapped in paper with 1 layer of bubble wrap.
and there are no impact marks on the barrel.

Actually looks like the entire barrel is bent.

If there are no marks, it was either refinished or was wrapped up when it got hit.

90% chance it's shipping damage.

Are there still boot tread marks from where the UPS guy stood on the box?

Here's what the seller said!!!

Hey Mike,
I don't know anything about the history of the barrel... like I said in
my posting I bought a used mossberg awhile back with 2 barrels, the 26" and
an 18" barrel.  I only fired the gun with the 18" on it like 1 box and I
sold the shotgun shortly after.  This was my first shotgun purchase and I
only wanted to try it out and I didn't like it as much as handgun shooting.
I thought the barrel looked a little out of whack also but I thought maybe
it was made to be like this so that when installed on the gun it lined up
with the chamber or something.
Since I got it like this and I didn't have
anything to compare it with I thought this was a possibility.  Have you
tried installing it on the mossberg?  I can't remember if it looks straight
and lined up with the receiver when installed.  From what I remember, it
looks straight on one side of the barrel and maybe flares out on the other
side going towards the receiver.  Kind of like

I did not buy the shotgun from the original owner and he didn't tell me much
about its history other than he only shot about a box also through it.
Sorry I couldn't be more help on this I would suggest trying to shoot a few
rounds to see if it shoots out of whack.  I never stored it in a position to
make it curve nor dropped it or flexed it so if its not shooting straight it
must have been a past owner.  Please let me know what you find out.

Tell the seller you want your money back! From the way he is dancing around the subject he knew it was bent in the first place. Probably hoping that it would get more damaged in transit. That way he still got his money and you get reimbursed with the insurance money.

a little off topic but i saw a guy who built a "silencer" for shotguns! He basically welded on an extra 3 FEET of Barrel to his gun! It looked totally silly like he was carrying a plumbing pipe but it works. By the time the "explosion" of gas reaches the end there is little noise left so it makes a sound of a soda can opening. Also it increases accuracy and adds a LOT of velocity to the Shots. Yet this is considered totally legal because it is not a "silencer" I bet if that ever became popular the ATF would create a "too long" rule or something.

I think that's made to compensate for severe wind drift.

I worked at UPS for a long time, we called that the UPS seal of aproval

Also that could have very easily happened in the UPS conveyor system, I have seen golf clubs come through that were bent 90°
