Good shot and you didn't waste any meat.
I'll take a backstrap if you have more than you can handle.

I've killed hundreds with a pellet gun (if not thousands).  I've even got a few with a K-bar!!

I've even had a few as pets.  They make really cool pets if they have a good personality.

I last shot a rat when I was a kid living on a farm.  I used a Jennings .22 pistol.   It popped it's head out and I shot him, he went back in the hole.... came out again and went straight for the dog food.   4 more remington 22s and he was done.   Rats are tough, nice kill with a pellet gun ( he's a bit small for the taxidermist tho)

Greetings fellow rat hunter
Very well done with a daylight shot out in the open againt a rat!!!!  At least around where I live, rats almost never show themselves during the day.

I use CCI .22lr shot shell to hunt them indoors in vacant buildings that we have.

How would you like that,,    Kung pao Rat, or sweet and sour rat.

Of course it comes with the usual fried rice and egg roll

Take it to a taxidermist and have the head mounted.

It would look pretty cool hanging in your den, office, cubicle or gun room.

The huge barn we had when I was a kid had a clay floor full of rat holes. The neighborhood kids would occassionally gather with their BB guns and we'd put a couple garden hoses down the holes. Rats would start popping out, and the fun began. Ah, memories...
