My brother-in-laws mother gave me a pistol today to get rid of (don't think she whacked anybody recently).
I was thinking of putting it on gunbroker with a $200 reserve, after all it is rare and match grade, hell, tactical too.
Just kidding, I would never part with such a fine piece.

I've never handled a .25 before but after I looked at a cartridge I was asking myself why? Why is there a .25? Looks to me like a .22 long rifle would pack as much punch and a helluva lot cheaper.

A 22LR has about 2X the muzzle energy that a 25 ACP has.

You probably couldn't get 2rds out of it without jamming

And said that the .380 "hit like a ton of bricks", compared to .25 ACP it does....

$200. too much...Maybe $65.00
.25 ammo is quite expensive and after 200 rounds you can use the gun for a target.

One of the investigators in my unit got shot with a Beretta .25 from point blank range about 10 years ago. The bullet bounced off of his sternum and grazed the top of his chest muscle. Pissed him off pretty bad while he was cuffing the guy who shot him.

My Colt .25 autos are actually pretty reliable little pieces.

But I don't carry them. They are curiosities more than anything else. I pack big pistols with actual stopping power, but remain fascinated by high quality mouseguns.

I have no idea why.

.25 ACP exists because rimless cartridges feed better, and with less chances of rimlock, from vertical magazines than rimmed cases like .22 rimfire.

Nope Sorry it is NOT! Neat but not the coolest..

My Uncle has a little pistol, Colt .380 looks EXACTLY like a 1911 but in a .380.
It looks like someone washed a 5" 1911 in cold water, can ya say SHRINKAGE

I will see him in the next week or 2 and see if he wont lemme take a pic of it.

Anyoneelse seen one?

Bond didn't carry the 380 he carried the 32acp version. Looks like your movie history is about as accurate as your Nevada ranch hooker info.

When I got into police work every thug and gang banger carried a Lorcin or Raven type .25 or .32 typse POS pistol. THEN liberals got the ID to ban or sue out of existence every POS "saturday night special " pistol manufacturer.
When I got out police work every thug or gangbanger had to have the latest Glock fo-tay or AK.

Wow, that's liberal progress for you !

Glad your buddy was okay. I'm glad the thug didn't have a hi-cap quality .40/9mm

I have one of those. Colt government model .380. They don't make them any
more. Worth about three times what I paid for it, as if I would ever sell it.

I dunno. It looks more like a relaibility thing:

M: Armourer! (to Bond) Take off your jacket! Give me your gun. Yes, I thought so. This damn Beretta again. I’ve told you about this before. (to Boothroyd) You tell him — for the last time!

MAJOR BOOTHROYD: Nice and light — in a lady’s handbag. No stopping power.

M: Any comments Double-O Seven?

JAMES BOND: I disagree sir. I’ve used a Beretta for ten years — I’ve never missed with it yet!

M: Maybe not, but it jammed on your last job and you spent six months in hospital in consequence. If you carry a Double-O number it means you’re licenced to kill not get killed. And another thing. Since I’ve been head of MI7 there’s been a 40 percent drop in Double-O operative casualties, and I want it to stay that way. You’ll carry the Walther — unless of course you’d prefer to go back to standard intelligence duties.

JAMES BOND: No sir. I would not.

M: Then from now on you carry a different gun, show him armourer.

MAJOR BOOTHROYD: Walther PPK 7.65 mil with . Takes a Brausch silencer with very little reduction in muzzle velocity — the American CIA swear by them.

M: Thank you Major Boothroyd.

MAJOR BOOTHROYD: Thank you sir. (to Bond) Goodnight sir.

M: Any questions Double-O Seven?

JAMES BOND: No sir.

M: Alright then. Best of luck.

JAMES BOND: Thank you sir. (Bond picks up the Walther in its box, hiding the Beretta underneath, and walks to the office door)

M: (without looking up from his desk) Double-O Seven!

JAMES BOND: Sir?

M: Just Leave the Beretta.

Besides, when it comes to handgun stopping power, how can you possibly take seriously anyone who says a .32ACP has "a delivery like a brick through a plate-glass window"?
