1:12 am here. Wouldnt be home tonight, but I went to this dance party at a local club/theater. I thought it was a techno rave thing. I get there and the DJ's playing hardcore gangsta stuff and I'm the only white kid there. Well I went in anyways, but my scarf and preppy attire got some weird looks. Variety is the spice of life right? Anyways, here I am, home with AR15.com.

I asked what his fav's were, and was told we just need to fatten him up! I have Chocolate/White chocolate cookies on the planner this week, and will probably double batch some Chocolate chip ones for him as well. I'm also thinking about making homemade apple/cinnamon muffins... I am not used to sending things in the mail, and WORRY about sending anything else. I'll check and see if there are restaurants near him that I can gift certificate. |

I'll overnight it to be sure. I'm neurotic about food, TOTAL germphobe. I recently sent baked goods for the first time, and they were ok after a few days. I seal them in LOTS of wrap, then put them in sealed glad bag things. I really wish I could just make that boy some FOOD! I can cook, but am lost with how to send anything but baked goods through the mail. He'll have to deal with local restaurants.

Oy - I'm so busy and stressed these days, I can barely plan one week ahead. I think I'm probably going to wait until my cat dies (I don't want to travel, and then not be there when he gets really sick), and so instead of me flying to L.A., my buddy's probably going to fly out here in March or April. Then I've got all these damn conferences to go to over the summer, and some keynote speaker thing I've got to do at some event in the Netherlands in June , and then I have to get all my ducks in a row before my tenure review that starts in November (and will determine the success or failure of my entire career !!) Did I mention the stress? It sure would be awesome to go to SoCal for a week or ten days, just to relax and hang out. My buddy just got tenure last year, so he's taking it easy in Santa Monica. Bastard! Sorry for the long rambling post.

Oh, and Total Recall is on WGN. That movie is like Robocop. I can watch it a million times and it never gets old. Paul Verhoeven directed both.
Of course, he also directed Showgirls, which is a freakin' disgrace. |
