The city medical examiner's office has ruled that a rookie police officer who was shot three times by a colleague last month outside a Bronx White Castle restaurant died from those bullet wounds and not from a beating he suffered moments before the shooting

No kidding.  He needed something like 70 units of blood over several days.  I feel terrible for both officers, especially the one who shot the other.  I find no fault in what he did.  As one officer said, he should feel no guilt over it, but the grief he will never be able to avoid.
