I think they used him as the model for the Red Baron pizza logo...

Reminds me of Lee Van Cleef,  the guy from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"/"A Few Dollars More."

When I was a recuit in the army, we had an officer who looked exactly like that, and he was totally evil.

The kind of guy that you KNOW listens to opera, wears a monocle, and beats the servants on the weekend!

You guys are all wrong.  He looks like the guy from the Gangs of NY.

Are you serious? Look back and forth between the two, they look exactly alike.

WOW, you're right.  They do look exactly alike.  Maybe he was the model for that picture.

I don't now who he is, but he is the guy who was on the Red Baron TV commercials.  That guy was not Tom Selleck.

Guess what?.....nobody said it was.......the author of this post is saying they LOOK a lot like one another and MAYBE they ( the Red Baron pizza company ) used Tom Selleck as a model for the Red Baron pizza boxes.
He ( Tom Selleck ) was in a movie called "High road to China" in which he played a "retired" WWI fighter pilot taking a woman to find her father.
SO there probably stands a chance that there is a picture somewhere that depicts TS resembling the RB.

Yea, I love the ww1 fliers, but the personality of ole Manfred left something to be desired.  His brother Lothar was the family nutjob and I'd guess he would have been a better companion for beer and sausages.

For a real time on the town though, you needed this guy:

You mean you don't?  I usually make them wear a French maid's uniform, and it's more of a spanking than a beating.

Off-topic, though I have a photo of a great-uncle who was a fighter-pilot for Germany in WWI, wearing an Iron Cross.
