My 2nd son turns 6 on Thursday (2/16), and since I have moved to our new town to get the house set up before the rest of the family moves down, we had to celebrate early.

What does my son request for a birthday cake?

This:

Needless to say, I think he's developed good tastes.  It took me a while to get the different shades of green figured out, but it's not too bad for a hack camo job.

Is there some purpose to making such an immature, inappropriate comment such as this?  I was hoping to have a nice clean thread that I could show him.  Thanks for spoiling it.

You need to lighten up. GD is open season on almost everything.

Nice cake, a kid's happiness is like nothing else.

I had to start justifying C&R purchases by saying they were birthday presents

ETA: the best thing was when he opened it up he said "Daddy we can kill alot of zombies with this" Brings a tear to your eye

Yeah, well, I'm not that talented.  My brain doesn't work like the computer algorithm that came up with the MARPAT pattern.  He would have really loved it, though.

I's gots connections.  [mafia voice]You wantsa camo icing? I'sa gets you camo icing.[/mafia voice]

It was just a little of this, a little of that... I had to mix the colors myself.

Brown = chocolate cake icing with a little white icing mixed in to lighten it.
Olive Drab = White icing with green and yellow food coloring and a little bit of chocolate icing.
Black = chocolate icing with green, blue, red, and purple food coloring in the right combination.
Green = white icing with a LOT of green food coloring and a smidgen of the black icing to darken it.

His grandpa had trouble seeing it at 7 feet!  (but that may be due to his poor eyesight...)

Wow, post this in the survival forum. It would fit over there because it has everything; camo, (survival) candles, and tin foil (that you could make a helmet from once the cake's gone, or a field expedient stove)

One of the proudest moments as parents are when the things we think don't work out the way we want turn out great in the end because they are the thing that the child loves the most.  GREAT CAKE.

I was a little reluctant when my fiance asked if we could send my son a gun for Christmas, this was due to the fact that I did not think that my father (born in 43) would let him shoot at animals since we were not allowed.  I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago and he was telling me that Grampy and him took the BB gun we sent him and were shooting rabbits in the head and bringing them back to the house and feeding them to the momma dog that had puppies.  This BB gun was such a good idea he said that he has only missed once.  This was one of the proudest moments in my life as a parent so far.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN

to get collored icing just go to any michales and they have this stuff called pipping jell in there section were they have all the cake decorating things it comes in different collors always start with a whit frosting for most colors. or you can just use plain old food coloring it works ok but if you want good color then get the pipping jells.  My mom was a Cheif and she specialized in cakes.
