IIRC, FAA has issued a guideline that prohibits such attempts...

It does raise an interesting point on lasers, lead, speed etc...

these aren't industrial lasers but are very powerful... are used to point out stars and constellations (well that's what they were originally designed for)... the green are very bright and the beam can be seen even in the daytime
