Is it just me or are all guns and accesories too damn expensive?

a friggin basic, standard issue type, chrome lined, M4 chrome moly barrrel with a barrel nut and NOTHING else is over $300.00 bucks after you have it shipped?

I don't know but I think some of this shit is too friggin' expensive for what you're getting....

A Kimber Warrior over a grand
Any .308 AR - over a grand

I was looking at a Glock 20 before Christmas - it was $499.00 now $569.00 same gun same shop.  Guy said there was a price increase for '06.  I can handle that - but a 14% price increase?

Thank God for stripped lowers, used parts and the EE

thanks for listening....

I've only bought one gun new in my life.  Everything else has come used in parts off the EE, newspaper, friends or from the fun show.

Saved lots of money that way.

LOL.. Chicken feed.. Those are cheap parts.. Start pricing replacement parts for Safari Rifles..  Or better yet a replacement barrel for a H&H double..

I have $500 dealer price wrapped up in a set of NECG sights for my .460 Wby Mag (that's front with hood and with 1/4 rib rear with dual flip up)..

I don't mean cheaper - which is different from less expensive

I think demand is up which drives price up - another economic variable I can handle.  But how about almost 300 bucks for a free float rail?  Come on now.......

Yup. There is some serious money being made by a few people, relative to the value they add to a product.

But then, we drive demand.

$495 or so is dealer cost on a new g20. he's making $75 on a nearly $500 investment. thats only 15%.

I just bought a new g20 for $565 not a week and 1/2 ago.

supply needs to catch up to demand,

its gotten better though, right after the AWB I remember trying to build my first M4gery and finding parts was like trying to find a republican at Berkley.

Not to mention they're too damned tempting. I just went to order 3 $15 mags from cdnn and ended up spending a couple hundred bucks.

yeah I know the margines are pretty thin.  I'm not knocking the gun shop owners in the least.

it's the $495.00 to Glock that grips me - just sems high.  But I'm still going to order one....

Tempting - they'll break your ass in about 1 trip to a gun show....(which is another gripe all together)
