Hey,
I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about a shot gun called the ASG-16d made by Militech. I saw one on Gun Broker a long time ago and there's a pick of it on Security Arms, it looks really kewl. I was wondering if any one has one of these, or if you've seen them for sale anywhere.

I found this at google. Tell me if that's it. If fires .410 shotgun shells. Here's a link, in case the pic doesn't work. http://www.securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/1100/1145.htm

Yeah that's it. Now I just have to track one down. Does anyone know what the drum capacity is/was?

I'm guessin a full box of 25 .410 shells is what it looks like it'll take. I'm not for sure though, if I find out, I'll let you know somehow.

Gloftoe, I remember that shotgun was covered in an article in SOF magazine. I remember it was designed and made in South Africa if I recall correctly. Believe the barrel was to short for civie's to own here. Also, I believe it came out after 94, and runs afoul of import restrictions and such. It was cool because it had two feed tubes that alternated feeding fresh rounds into the chamber, and as you stated, it ejects from the bottom. Very Kewl. The jist of the article dealt with the idea that shotgun design has never gone thru the design revolutuions/evolutions that pistols and rifles have, and that shotguns basically operated on the same design principles as they had at thier inception. The shotgun in your pic was offered in the article as a possible candidate for a evolution in shotgun design. I think it is, I wish, oh I wish.

It seams like South Africa is really a hotbed for shotgun design. They came up with the street-sweeper, the ASG-16d, a whole family of strykers, and now the neostead. I hope it gets into the US.

You guys are wildly optimistic.  No shotgun that looks like *those* is ever gonna see sunrise in the U.S.

I still want one . . . [;)]

That's goodnews Gloftoe, I probably can't afford a Benelli M4 (if they ever are available to civies[:(]), but maybe I can afford one of these babies.
