Or is it automaticly the end of your life for crossing Uncle Sam?

I was reading about the rate at which the US code grows everyday, and how most Americans may already be felons without even knowing it. It got me wondering if ever law that the government passes is punishable as a felony.

Good question. I can't see, say, speeding on Federal property as being a felony, but maybe it is.

I wonder if anyone has ever been prosecuted for it.

Are there any federal crimes that are not a felony?

There are fed. misdemeanors. IIRC, they are not defined like (most) state MMs. I seem to recall there being fed MMs punishable by 2 or 3 years in prison. They aren't just police-power violations on federal land; I've read of them being used as lessers for plea purposes on fairly big cases.

Sorry for the lack of detail. I try to avoid judges who don't accept campaign contributions.

Violations in Nat'l Parks, Nat'l Forests, etc. Most crimes that are covered by Fed code would be higher level, interstate, etc. the small stuff is usually covered by City and State Codes
