The "game" presupposes the existence of the supernatural. Its stated purpose is to tap into the evil side of the supernatural. If you do not believe in the supernatural, there is no point in playing the "game." If, however, you DO believe in the supernatural, there is STILL no point in playing the game because you know that whatever you encounter will be more powerful and more sinister than you can handle.
