Firefox 1.5.0.1 is a steaming pile of shit. Does anyone know where I can get the last version so I have stable web browsing again? Not only have they STILL not fixed the memory leak issue, but the browser keeps crashing.

Maybe I should move to IE7.

I have done about 25 and it worked fine.

Do you still have the download window open automatically or have you disabled it? That's supposed to be a big cause of memory leaks in the current version.

I'm averaging one or two crashes a day.

I haven't yet been able to link it to anything I'm doing.

I typically have 3 windows with 10-25 tabs open in each window.

33 Tabs is pretty much asking for trouble. Open 33 Internet Explorer windows and see what the result is.

I disabled it. The way it used to slow down, you'd fire up a new tab and it would load sloooowwwwwly. Now, I can't change tabs (even with only 7 open) and when I attempt to close one the browser crashes. This has never happened to me w/ Firefox before, and I have made no changes to the system.

I don't like Opera, not to mention it being a pain to get used to a new interface, but damn this is pissing me off. After having the browser open for about 12 hours of browsing, it is using over 240 megabytes.

I used to be able to get IE to crash reliably after about 88 windows open, but it would degrade gracefully - right-click context menus quit working and one of the menu bars would disappear, giving you warning of impending doom. And, if you closed a few windows, it was fine. Not to mention that it was faster. Yes, IE. Faster when a bunch of sites were up.
