If you were to pick a top *TEN* songs for the feces hitting the fan - what would they be?
I know there have been thread on "Favorite band" etc - but I wish to incorporate a more limited scope - being that of perfect tuneage for SHTF or TEOTWAWKI. Silent Running - Mike & The Mechanics
Take the children and yourself And hide out in the cellar By now the fighting will be close at hand Don’t believe the church and state And everything they tell you Believe in me, I’m with the high command Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? There’s a gun and ammunition Just inside the doorway Use it only in emergency Better you should pray to god The father and the spirit Will guide you and protect from up here Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Swear allegiance to the flag Whatever flag they offer Never hint at what you really feel Teach the children quietly For some day sons and daughters Will rise up and fight while we stood still Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me running (can you hear me calling you? ) (can you hear me) hear me calling you? (can you hear me running) hear me running babe? (can you hear me running) hear me running? Calling you, calling you For me, All Along The Watchtower (Hendrix) and Paint it Black (Stones) come in a close second and third. |
I remember that Mike & The Mechanics song from the '80s, I think it was called "Silent Running".
Jimmy Buffett has a song titled "Trouble on the Horizon" and of course REM's "End of the World as We Know It"! |
"No Guts, No Glory" - BoltThrower
In fact, shit, almost anything off of their "...For Victory", "Mercenary", and even "Honor - Valor - Pride" albums... And I see they have a new cd out...I need to pick that up today... |

A Sabbath song? I don't think so. Are you talking about the Nazareth song Hair Of The Dog? I believe the lyrics are "Now you're messin' with a son of a bitch" I also see you didn't care much for my list. That's weird. |

I'm gonna steal from someone. Because it's true for me to.
I have images of standing in a tank hatch driving down a city highway in the middle of a battle zone firing my M-2 while my gunner and loader are raining hell down and playing "MOVE BITCH" by Ludacris on the loud speaker. |

March of Cambreadth by Heather Alexander
Go here and scroll down to the "Midsummer" album and clink on "March of Cambreadth" to hear the song. I have the MP3. |
Nice. |
Believe or not, that's exactly what came to mind when I opened this thread. I love that album. "Pleasure to Kill" is one of my favorite releases from 1986 (a banner year, IMO), along with Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood, Peace Sells but Who's Buying, Power & Pain by Whiplash (3 Italians dudes all named Tony). |
Add "You make me feel like dancing"--Leo Sayer, and "Afternoon Delight"--Starland Vocal Band and I think you have a winner
