If you were to pick a top *TEN* songs for the feces hitting the fan - what would they be?

I know there have been thread on "Favorite band" etc - but I wish to incorporate a more limited scope - being that of perfect tuneage for SHTF or TEOTWAWKI. ("Shit Hit the Fan" and "The End of The World As We Know It" for the newbs".

I post this thread mainly out of curiousity but also to find what my Ipod lacks

My Personal Top Ten

1. Head Like a Whole - by Nine Inch Nails
2. Aenema - by Tool
3. Die MotherFucker Die - by Dope

7. Seek and Destroy - Metallica
8. Down with the Sickness - Disturbed ( or Richard Cheese lounge version)

Silent Running - Mike & The Mechanics

Take the children and yourself
And hide out in the cellar
By now the fighting will be close at hand
Don’t believe the church and state
And everything they tell you
Believe in me, I’m with the high command

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

There’s a gun and ammunition
Just inside the doorway
Use it only in emergency
Better you should pray to god
The father and the spirit
Will guide you and protect from up here

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stood still

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

Can you hear me running (can you hear me calling you? )
(can you hear me) hear me calling you?
(can you hear me running) hear me running babe?
(can you hear me running) hear me running?
Calling you, calling you

For me, All Along The Watchtower (Hendrix) and Paint it Black (Stones) come in a close second and third.

I remember that Mike & The Mechanics song from the '80s, I think it was called "Silent Running".

Jimmy Buffett has a song titled "Trouble on the Horizon"

and of course REM's "End of the World as We Know It"!

A Sabbath song? I don't think so.

Are you talking about the Nazareth song Hair Of The Dog? I believe the lyrics are "Now you're messin' with a son of a bitch"

I also see you didn't care much for my list. That's weird.

March of Cambreadth by Heather Alexander

Axes flash, broadsword swing,
Shining armour's piercing ring
Horses run with polished shield,
Fight Those Bastards till They Yield
Midnight mare and blood red roan,
Fight to Keep this Land Your Own
Sound the horn and call the cry,
How Many of Them Can We Make Die!

Follow orders as you're told,
Make Their Yellow Blood Run Cold
Fight until you die or drop,
A Force Like Ours is Hard to Stop
Close your mind to stress and pain,
Fight till You're No Longer Sane
Let not one damn cur pass by,
How Many of Them Can We Make Die!

Guard your women and children well,
Send These Bastards Back to Hell
We'll teach them the ways of war,
They Won't Come Here Any More
Use your shield and use your head,
Fight till Every One is Dead
Raise the flag up to the sky,
How Many of Them Can We Make Die!

Dawn has broke, the time has come,
Move Your Feet to a Marching Drum
We'll win the war and pay the toll,
We'll Fight as One in Heart and Soul
Midnight mare and blood red roan,
Fight to Keep this Land Your Own
Sound the horn and call the cry,
How Many of Them Can We Make Die!

REPEAT FIRST VERSE

Go here and scroll down to the "Midsummer" album and clink on "March of Cambreadth" to hear the song.  I have the MP3.

I love that album.  "Pleasure to Kill" is one of my favorite releases from 1986 (a banner year, IMO), along with Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood, Peace Sells but Who's Buying, Power & Pain by Whiplash (3 Italians dudes all named Tony).
