Since this is airbrushed on and is pretty thin would it be ok to redue my AR mags?

I have some leftover OD green that i can use.

Yes. I just did several FN-FAL mags in Desert Camo, they came out great.

You're talking about 2mm of thickness, not enough to change the fit of the mag in the magwell.

I did mine too.......but after several loadings, it just got a little shiny where it rubs on the inside of the receiver, but no chipping.

Ok......KG Gunkote is better, IMHO.

2mm damn you are putting it on thick!

If you use an airbrush, it shouldnt be more than .01mm

I'm having Mac's Shootin Iron Restorations refinish my new Brit SA-80 steel mags with their Tuff-Gun. It's KG GunKote over a parkerized finish. He did both my AR lower and my P226 (+mags) a few years ago and it's great stuff.
