I think having more than ten cats is a pretty good indication

eta: that was written before the poll showed up

Given my expenditures on my cat over the past year, I probably fall into the "crazy cat person" category

So if you have any questions, ask.

My vet yesterday said I needed to brush my cat's teeth.

I don't think they make leather gloves thick enough for that job. Maybe chain mail. Otherwise, 150 stitches, minimum.

I voted over two. We have three and I consider that too many.
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 7:30:15 PM EDT
The number isn't the determining factor. It's when there are more cats than can be cared for.

My sister-in-law said that some ladies she works with have "cat toy making" parties. Now that is just plain stupid!

I have found that 2 is a good number if both are kept in doors. Now if you have a house and barn and other buildings more than 2 is fine.
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 7:34:00 PM EDT
According to0 my humble opinion, it's gotta be more than 2. I had one and wasn't severely infected with the crazy cat disease...but I've seen many who did acquire the second cat and that usually was enough of a push to make a man/woman go crazy...
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 7:35:16 PM EDT
I really don't like cats. So I say one.

I hope they know that cats actually like improvised toys rather than that fluffy crap you can find at the store. My cat likes our shoelaces better than the toy mice we got her.

It's not so much number of cats as it is how much you let them control your life. You can be like those extreme dog people -- the type that buy clothes and manicures and pet psychics -- with your own cat, buying them a house full of cat trees or whatever. You don't need multiple cats for that to happen.

One.

Your sanity is suspect if you own a critter that pees & craps in a box inside the house and walks around on the kitchen table and counters.

It's the breast rule around our house. Also called the shoe rule. Anything more than 2 is too much.

Actually, three is the perfect number of breasts.

Two in the front and one in the back for slow dancing.

by the poll I'd say that 5 or more makes you a crazy cat person so to be sane again it's AR15 target practice time!!LOL!

Around 5 to 10.

It depends on how you treat them and stuff too.

I seen someone with 300

You ever have a cat get into something and you have to give her a bath? Then, that night you find yourself awake wondering if there really is such a thing as "cat scratch fever?"

We have 6 cats. But they're all well cared for and spoiled. NO kids here, and not much in the way of human acquaintances/friends...

6!! I hope you own a grain elevator!

No, the cats are all indoors only cats. You know how some women are...I'd only have 2-3 cats if it were up to me.

We have one. When I was a kid we had a small farm and had 3 . I think 5 is on the road to crazy cat person. Unless of course you have a farm or something. 10 is too many either way.

One cat, litter box in the basement gets cleaned out every day. She is not allowed on tables or kitchen counters, and they're sprayed down with disinfectant anyway.

My cat has better personal cleanliness habits than some people I meet.

Yes it is real, my wife had it.
We have 7 cats, they are all clean and we have 3 litter pans in the house. We had them all altered and they are happy and healthy. We have people over regularly and a few are allergic to cats, they say they can't tell we have any unless they see them. 7 is our upmost limit on animals.

Two here, both torties. One is older, say 10 yrs, and very fluffy. She is the Princess. Then there is the young one that we got about a year ago. She is a short haired tortie, and is GI-NORMOUS! She must weigh 20 lbs, some of it fat. She is like twice as long as out other cat and like 4 inches taller. She is fearless, unless you are the Plumber or have a powertool running.

Cats are a disease, you catch it when they fall asleep on your chest or curled up around your feet on a cold winters day.
