Sure it was, the call was reviewed, the call stands, then it is a touch down, deal with it.

Yes, it is. It's fixed to favor the favorites, which explains why the favorites have been upset in about half the Superbowls ever played.

Multi-billions bet....leave the outcome to chance? No way. Every crucial call goes against Seattle. And no I'm not a Seattle fan.

That ref simply was out of his mind. That was not a touchdown.

Also - the Seahawks were robbed of a touchdown. Two bad calls.

(and I really could care less who wins)
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 4:13:37 PM EDT
if the rules are the ball was suppost to be over the line. it wasn't a touchdown

Any part of the ball is supposed to break the plane of the touchdown line. I personally did not think this happened.

However, the rules state the Ref reviewing the play must see CLEAR evidence to the contrary of the call on the field. If not, he must side with the original call.....

That being said....GO SEAHAWKS!

Agreed. Not a touchdown. Seattle's WAS a touchdown, though. That was no offensive pass interference.
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 4:18:14 PM EDT
Are 7 points on the board for the Steelers?

I believe that's the FINAL answer then.
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 4:18:39 PM EDT
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 4:19:36 PM EDT
Don't care one bit who wins...but that was not a TD.
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 4:20:49 PM EDT
Final answer? Hell no Regis that ain't my final answer!!! Was it final when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!!!
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 4:20:56 PM EDT
For clarification of the rule, all the ball has to do is to "break" the front line of the wide white stripe. Where it goes from green to white. It does NOT have to go all the way over into the actual area known as the endzone.
Link Posted: 2/5/2006 4:22:54 PM EDT
I could care less who wins but Seattle had 2 bad calls against them. 1. That was NOT a push off unless PI was called also, and that was NOT a touchdown because the ball did not hit or go over the line. Even the player tried to cover it by tipping it over after down. BS call.

And it never did.
It was tucked under Bens arm and went back under his body before it had a chance to break the plane.

That's ok, might as well call the tuck rule ALA the Raiders....

It broke the plane when he was about a foot and a half off the ground.

Seattle got screwed on the push off call, though.

At least two people disagree with you, and they are the two people who matter.

The linesmen, and the ref.

7 points on the board.

Exactly!

On both counts...

The new pass interference rules suck. I like the old rules on that matter better.

seattle was robbed of a TD and Pitt was handed a freebie.

They're going to take my thumbs!!!!!!!!

BTW, Madden, who is never shy about saying it was or wasn't a bad call, never said it wasn't a TD.

He said it's too tough to call from the replay...

Madden has been in pro football for 40yrs{?}? I'd bet he knows better than you or I do.

If he says it's too tough to call, I'd believe him.

Madden is also a senile bastard who's screwed up more than a few calls already this game.

All the ball has to do is share space with the front blade of grass that has white on it. It did while he was still in the air.

Al Michaels agreed. Then the halftime guys all basically said it was too close to call, huh....

Hmm...

Maybe the guy who was standing 2.5' from the ball had a better look....

Maybe...

Nah, the internet guys with TV had the better angle.

Oh, shut up you idiot..................

It was in by 2-3 inches, not a blade of grass

That was no TD. The ref on the field made a mistake but the replay booth has no excuse and should be fired.

Officials can be wrong. Don't even try to convince anyone that their decisions are infallible. Besides, you're so adament that he made it across, and you're still an "internet guy with tv".
