Trying to put a set on a pair of boots but not quite sure how?

Here is a link to a set, not the ones I have but look similar.

I had a customer at the cigar shop in the summer who had knee high boots that zipped, buttoned, laced, and lord knows what else. he would wear sorts that went to the knee then the boots took the foot up to the knee if was some funny shit.
