I got a Colt SP1 a very good price.

The mechanic and operating system are ok, but the furnitures (stock, pistol grip and handguards) must be replaced because they are in very poor conditions, and this explains the low price.

Any advice where to buy M16A1 stock (trapdoor type) pistol grip and handguards?

I tried www.northridgeinc.com, but they NEVER answered back.

Try www.fultonarmory.com, they make aftermarket SP1 uppers, try contacting them and see if you can purchase just the handguards.

Just curious, how much does an SP1 go for in Italy? I paid $1200 for mine in the ban years, 99% condition but it had the owner's Social Security number on both the upper and the lower.

A while back, Sirplus Supply had original Colt M-16 stock and pistol grip sets for sale.  The price for an original stock and pistol grips set was $11 plus $4 shipping.

An SP1 can cost for about 3000 Euros, more than 3200 US dollars.

Mine costed much less...
