Well that is a show case that GM can make a safe car. I Wonder how the little princess would have faired in a Camery.

Toyota vehicles have an excellent safety record. They have these things called "standards" that every company has to meet before their vehicle can be sold in the U.S.

Must I bring up, once again, that the vast majority of "Japanese" vehicles are built here in the U.S. by AMERICANS?

Some girl is probably never going to touch a car again until she turns 35.

That Corvette is a sad sight, at least it did it's job and protected the occupants.

Any wreck you walk away from is a good one.

That'll be a nice drivetrain to install in a "non-ghey" car.

I do know that many of the cars made by toyota and other are made here.
As a Paramedic I have the luxury of seeing crunched cars a lot. My point was in light of GM problems they can make a safe car as they both walked away. My choice of Camery was based on personal obsevations. Yes there are "standards" but they are minimums.
I could have said how many Dodge trucks have you seen that lose the real axle in a side impact.
Or how about the Chevy trucks that can't be driven after a 15 mph front crash because the nose folds down on the front wheels.
Or the Ford trucks (F150 prior to new body style) that take a rear impact at about 20 mph that you can't open the doors on because the body is bend from front to back.
The Camery was due to the location of the "B" pillar the driver in a roll over can strike their head on it and suffer injuries. The advertised saftey ratings are for front, side, and rear impacts. This involved a rollover wreck which changes everything.
I was not bashing TOYOTA. They make a fine product they have good points and bad, just as all vehicles do.
You wish to flame on me go right ahead, I just ask that before you do, I ask how many wrecks have you had to evaluate for kenetics, points of impact, crush areas, intrusions into the passenger space. But do this with out factoring in past experiance of same model proformance.

Is that where the passenger's front wheel landed, or was it piled there for the ride to the junkyard?

Damn. I didn't think a 'vette was that substantial. I'm impressed.

You've put way too much effort into that and lost the tone of the original post.

How about:

If that's a Z06 it's not an automatic. I believe the Z06 was only available in white in 01 and while that car is a fixed roof coupe, which all Z06s are, I don't see the screens on the front air inlets. Definitely Z wheels and tires.
Link Posted: 2/3/2006 3:34:56 PM EDT
Damn- hope the girl had high enough property Damage limits. If she had insurance at all.

More likely- your friend has uninsured motorist.
