so, can we get the 86 mg law fixed now?

Sure. Just purposefully break the 86 law, get convicted, appeal to a higher court, hope they say something you don't like, appeal it to a federal court, hope they say something you don't like, then appeal to the SCOTUS and hope that they choose to hear it.

No problem, right?

Is that the only way the supreme courts hear cases?

"The near party-line vote to replace the more moderate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor with Alito, a federal appeals judge since 1990, came four months after the Senate approved Bush's first Supreme Court nominee, John Roberts, as U.S. chief justice."

Moderate is not the word I use for someone who wants to look to other countries to make decisions for cases in this country!

A smart person once said:  " If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything"

At least leftists stand for something -- the wrong somethings but at least they do. Moderates are the un-informed unprincilped people that are easily distracted by shiney objects or emotional issues.

For those of you trolling DU, please be sure to point out that 41 Democraps voted "NO", which is clearly enough of them to sustain a filibuster for as long as they want.

For those mentioning Lincoln Chafee, he did say he would vote no on Alito, but he would NOT support a filibuster. FWIW.

That is so, but it is also his attempt to have it both ways.

I agree.  He is just like our Ohio Senator MikeDeWine. Asswipe.

They are whining about abortion. And check this out from the DU.

"This is a dark day for America.
This country will never be the same."

"I'm pissed as hell--maybe more than when the election was stolen from Gore--and I'm going to channel that anger into doing something about the sorry state of our Democratic party."

Let's all write to our Congressmen and get them to amend the constitution so that Supreme Court justices can be recalled by popular vote.

Ha ha

Why not just add an amendment that says "No Alito in Supreme Court".

Tards.

Machinegun has come from several times where as a judge in a lower court, he has stated that the NFA and machinegun ban were all wrong.  Note he didn't go as far to say unconstitutional, however, it seems as if a vote 2A vote were to come up, he would be on our side.

DeWine enthusiastically endorsed renewing the AWB.  He was blowing all of the "usual suspects" during that whole ordeal.  How he claims to be a republican at all is completely beyond me.

IIRC, he is not so pro-2A (or pro-RKBA) as he is one who thinks Congress has overstepped their Constitutional bounds WRT interstate commerce.
