The amazing revolver safety lever. It works by limiting thrust per squeeze for safe shooting indoors or around children and old folks.

The grooves you see in the cylinder work against a stud in the bottom strap of the frame when the recoil drives the upper assembly back. The cylinder rotates 1/6 turn, and the hammer is cocked. It's a lot of fun to shoot, but expensive to feed.

Cool !!!

Now go buy a Mateba as well. I have been SOOOOO tempted so many times to get a semi-auto revolver.

Now I envy you!

Somebody was making an auto revolver a couple of years ago IIRC. But I can think of who.

ETA: Mateba, DK has a better memory.

lucky man, ex-Brit here. I'm looking for a fosbery to go with my other Webleys.

The Mateba Unica 6, one of the more controversial firearms out there. A lot of people (none of which own or have even seen a Mateba in person) claim it's an expensive and pointless waste of gun that is a solution in search of a problem. Everyone I know who has ever actually handled one says they're nearly orgasmic experiences. The recoil is reduced in all three calibers (.357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .454 Casull), it's single-action every single time you pull the trigger, and they're pretty fricking accurate. Never heard a complaint about them from anyone who actually used one.

I plan on getting one when I can afford the $1,200 price tag.

If you get over this way, you're welcome to a test-drive anytime.

A friend of mine had one when I was in college and he loved to hear "Oh that's just another crummy Webley " at the range. To which he would answer "Yep, watch" and fire it. Never failed to make jaws drop and crowds gather.

So I looked it up (hmmmmm, odd thing indeed) www.kitsune.addr.com/Firearms/Revolvers/Mateba_Model_6.htm and it said this about them:

The last special feature of the weapon is that the adjustable sight is located on the front of the barrel shroud. Instead of adjusting the solid (but replacable) aft sights, one has to adjust the front sights.

Anyone got any idea what the advantage of an adjustable front sight might be?

RIP Miles Archer

ETA aimsurplus is advertising ammo- .455(?) IIRC. Sort of pricey. 27.00 or so /50.

There's a USB port just behind the gyroscopic advance unit. It's next to the lanyard ring.
