When you buy a new weapon, specifically pistols, do you save the box or case or do you just get rid of it ?
I have saved all of mine and they take up a good bit of space so I was just curious.

always save them, orginal boxes help the value of the gun later if you want to sell it

That's what that big flat place on the top of your gun safe is for.

Absolutely keep them… In most cases the original box increases value.

Makes it easier to sell if you want/need to.

Yes, they help the resale value a lot, and they are also good for storage of guns AND are legally classified as a case if you are like me and have way more guns than you do suitable cases to transport them in.

I've only had one or two come with a cardboard box.  All have come with the hard plastic case.

Cardboard boxes I've dumped.  I keep all plastic cases, why wouldn't you?

HEY !!!!............peeping tom.  And all that stuff has a purpose.

Ok, another question, do you use the original cases to transport them to the range or shoots or do you use a range bag or other case ?

If its a card board box like a Remington shotgun or bolt action rifle comes in I toss it.  I have a the plastic case that my G17 came in and the tupper ware box that my G34 came in.  I will probably toss them both as I do not use them.

I use real cases.  Boxes are a PITA.  I only use them if I have to transport more guns than I have cases for, which is pretty rarely.

Of course some of my guns I just holster and strap onto my hip!

I never use the original boxes for transport, unless it's a plastic case (i.e., not just a cardboard box). I guess they would be helpful, though, if I were to move to a new home (or something like that) and need to transport them all at once. I would never get rid of them unless you really had to.

Because I just don't care enough about the $1-10 I might get if I sell the firearm/whatever.  It's not worth it.

Also, I don't sell much of what I buy anyway, but even if i did it still wouldn't be worth it.  I keep what I use, I throw the trash away.  No reason to keep something I will not use.

The cases that are worth money, such as HK pistol cases, I put on eBay and usually make $25.  The glock cases go in the trash.

I save all of my boxes.  I bought many of my guns in the days of the cardboard box, and I still have all of them.  It is just another selling point, when I have all of the boxes with matching serial numbers, paperwork etc

I have enough crap in my house I don't need no cardboard boxes too. If I bought a collector piece or something rare I would keep those.

depends on if i decide i want a better case(if supplied with one)    i normally throw away the boxes, as i dont have room for them.

i try to get pelican cases for most of my higher end weapons.

I had kept all of mine, but recently tossed them. They were taking up too much room, and I don't have any intention of selling any gun I have, so...
