That said, I did probably come across like a 6 year old as I am far from proficient yet at báihuà and then cutting it down on a computer.

Sure it's allowed. Magazine racks there are full of magazines sporting military hardware and guns on the cover. Also, lots of people themselves are really interested in guns. I was talking with my professor there and he went nuts when he found out I had guns. So I showed him a number of photos on my laptop and a couple of videos. And the next day he told me he had dreams about the guns, and how they were "very pretty." Which is funny, one of the guys who posted on the Chinese site refered to them as "very pretty," too. Also, when I was walking around a giant bookstore in Beijing, I was walking through the childrens section and a book caught my eye. It had a picture of a revolver on the cover and the title in Chinese was, "Little Gun Fan." Anyway, the book was full of gun pictures, starting with old muzzle loaders and work its way to more contemporary pistols, rifles, and light machine guns. However, a lot of the guns are mislabeled, for example, what is clearly a Sig 226 says it is made in China, and is listed under a different model number, Also, they have what they say is a Barrett M82A1, but its not even a Barrett. To top it all off, there are cartoon drawings of small children with helmets shooting guns, and on the back cover is a picture of all the PLA medals that can be awarded. Pretty crazy. Brian |

I think that all ar-15 pictures should now come with "free Tibet" or "free Taiwan" labels
Better yet, how about"death to commies" |

Nice. I like the all coyote/tan paint job. Worthwhile of international acclaim. |

That's actually Koreans who have trouble confusing L with R. Anyways, given China's militant nature, there are probably a larger % of armchair commandos in that country than there are here. Those people should are brothers from different mothers, haha. And before the tin foil hattery goes nuts, the chance of China invading is as probable as Mexico doing the same |

I'd take the one on the left |

Because of the BOTHish links on the page, I was sure that it was owned by someone other than a mainland Chinese, however I ran the WHOIS and the owner is in China, not Taiwan. A couple of thoughts: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. There are tens of millions of Chinese that would give their left nuts for the opportunity to enjoy our 2nd ammendment rights. |

The Chinese probably already de-engineered the ar platform. They already did it with every thing else like Buicks, palm pilots, etc.
I'm going loosen the tin foil hat now. |
that's really cool and really sad at the same time. too bad those guys will [most likely] never even know what it feels like to let some 5.56 loose. |
I know ya don't want to hear it , but the chinesse have had teh m16/ar15 copy platform for quite some time. Remember all thoes m16s the palistinains used on israeli troops ? ( the ones that didn't have AKs ) thoes were norinco m16s! I know , i know........i bet they're even worse than vulcans!
Yep,
The chinese have copies of the SIG P226, 1911, AR15/M16 and of course, the M14. It only stands to reason that they have reverse-engineered their own ARFCOM ! (Bastards) |
Look around, Pal.....Mexico IS invading. |
They're not really saying anything. One guy mentioned how they were "pretty," another said the pictures were "beautiful." And another said they were all "li hai!" Which is hard to translate sometimes, but in this case it basically means "bad ass!" Brian |

Those are our guns! Why are the Chinese so interested in our guns? |
Does China have any tin foil types? Can you translate their GD.? |
They probably think these are all really cool customized Airsoft(TM) "guns". |
"Wow, that Chuck Norris guy they keep talking about must be really tough!" "What the f--k do 'IBTL', '+1' and 'DUPE' mean?" "I think 'DU' must be some sort of comedy show they watch. They always post those laughing faces every time they mention it." |

Everybody that visited that site, just put themselves on the Fed's "List"(again, for some of us). That knock on your door later this afternoon, will not be the kid across the street selling GirlScout cookies.

Backing up The Alchemist....he's absolutely right. I lived in Wuhan for a year and could access my favorite firearm/military related sites most of the time as easily as in the US. Gun and military magazines are everwhere! Sometimes, I was rather impressed by the quality of the photography. I still have one military magazine I bought from a stand on the street which has a 4 page article explaining the Tiger 1's gun site. Very detailed with lots of precise line drawings. Many of my students (Junior high age) would ask me questions about firearms and shooting. Alot of the boys were playing the Counterstrike PC game at that time and liked to debate which weapons were more effective. It was also not uncommon to see toy guns in the street, supermarket, and shopping areas. Sidewalk "shooting galleries" were common too. This usually consisted of balloons attached to a sheet of plywood. The gun was always the same model it seemed; a spring powered replica of the SKS. These were actually fairly accurate replicas, even the plastic bayonet could be folded open or closed. I don't remember the cost, but the fee to shoot was cheap. The rifles were pretty weak so the board was the backstop. The shooters would usually kneel or squat about 10 to 15 feet from the board and plink away. Once, I was riding in the headmaster's car and we passed the site of the former Hanyang arsenal. He asked me some questions about the 2nd Amendment. His final statement on that subject was he wished Chinese could own guns too! My wife, a Chinese, was a bit intimidated at first by my small collection of military arms but now finds them fascinating. |
