BS in my opinion. I bet Kyrie Ellis is the source. i have seen that stuff before. There may have been something to the spanish CETME vs .308, but the other is crap.

5150BRY, That is my information, also.
Reason is so that 7.62 will have optimum pressure/duration for cycling of gas guns. Good reason for not shooting .308 in 7.62 guns, aside from some minor dimensional differences is that .308 will eventually batter the gas guns. CETME 7.62 was downloaded further still from 7.62 NATO in attempt by Spaniards to achieve controllable FA fire from CETME rifles. As to safety issues, the GI High Pressure Test Cartridge M60 (7.62 NATO) develops a pressure of 67,500 psi. This a PROOF round, and is a test round only. I'll let you be the judge about the safety issue. |
