I've noticed both types in the time I've been on this board and would like to see if there is a consensus type.

ETA: I have always been an solid "A" type but I'm starting to mello. I still have tourette's syndrom behind the wheel though

ETA:

Type "A" personality:

There are two cardinal features of type A that we must remember, namely, "time urgency or time- impatience" and "free-floating (all pervasive and ever-present) hostility."

Following questions may be asked to determine the presence of time-impatience

1.  Do you eat fast and leave the dinner table immediately ?  yes
2.  Does your partner or any close friend tell you to slow down, become less tense, or take it easy?  No
3.  Does it bother you a lot to wait in line at cashier's counter or to be seated in a restaurant? yes
4.  Do you usually look at TV or read the paper while eating? No
5.  Do you examine your mail or do other things while listening to someone on the telephone?  yes
6.  Do you often think of other matters while listening to your partners or others? yes
7.  Do you believe that usually you are in a hurry to get things done?  Yes

Pervasive and ever-present hostility can be assessed by the following questions:

1.  Do you often find it difficult to fall asleep or difficult to stay asleep because you are upset about something a person has done?  no
2.  Do you believe that most people are not honest or are not willing to help others?  No
3.  Do you become irritated when driving or swear at others?  YES!!!!!
4.  Does your partner, when riding with you, ever tell you to cool or calm down? Yes
5.  Do you often have a feeling that your partner is competing against you or is too critical of your inadequacies?  yes
6.  Do you grind your teeth or has your dentist ever told you that you have done so?  Yes
7.  Does the car-driving errors of other drivers, the indifference of store clerks, or the tardiness of mail delivery upset you significantly? YES

Type B personality:

The opposite of type A personality. The type B personality is relaxed, uncompetitive, and inclined to self-analysis.

I know, I wanted to keep it simple and allowed people to elaborate on non "A" non "B" types.

Type B here, I can go with just about any flow, and It doesn't alway have to be my way.
I can be an in your face kind of person, but I have found thats not usually very effective, (since I have a very bad temper). Better to stand off and get someone else to do the dirty work.

So it's safe to say you avoid putting your foot in your mouth. Upon further inspection I would too .

This is why psychology fails. You can't just go textbook on every case, because nobody is the same. How many of you agree with some type A traits yet, find you're mostly mellow?

I'm somewhere in the middle. Time patient until such time becomes unreasonable. Non-hostile until someone pushes too far. Above all I try to be understanding but everyone has bad days.

You are not A or B, you are yourself.

For those who honestly say they have an all-pervasive, ever-present hostility just remember, you get what you give.

B in real life. When on line, you're all my bitches.

I'm actually a pretty mellow dude. It takes a monumental amount of bullshit to get me worked up. My personality could probably be best summarized by saying "Eh, fuck it. I've got shit to do".

Multi level

Normal = level B

but add an X to the game and B + X = A
X = unknown asshat behavior.

I am rubber you are glue what you give me I will stick on you.

I've done many of these tests before and I always score on the boarderline mark.

Some days I'm type A, some days I'm type B.

A healthy balance I think

it is relative...as I grow older I find that I am at peace in the long checkout line, if the checkout clerk or the customer is efficient in their activities....some idiot stammering over a lotttery ticket and holding up the line for a dollar might get a comment.
I am B personality but my firearms are always on A
I am B but my spending is usually on A
I don't eat much anymore but chew each bite at least once...

There are billions of very different people on this planet, and billions more that have lived. To group everybody into two types of personalities is a narrow view to put it lightly. Overall, I'm a B type, but A in some places.

I think Im A but I dont have road rage, and Im really kind of mellow.

It takes a LOT to get me upset, but when I reach that point its black-out, balls to the walls kinda mad...my girlfreind says either to one extreme or the other..never in the middle

I never knew I was a Type A personality. That answers a lot of questions about me.
I thought I disliked Type B people for the wrong reasons, but now I see it's just natural.
