Abstract Expressionism?(in his case throwing paint globs at a canvas), No. Hardcore Wild Style Graffiti Pieces?(Burning whole 40 foot sections of wall) Yes. Betta' Reckonize |

If you don't understand or can't read graffitti, you shouldn't be discussing it. Bitch all you want about property damage or move to a better neighborhood. Graffitti is a great form of expression and a local artist here tagged a wall to commemorate his friend from sparks who died in Iraq.
To anyone who watches the movie "Kids" and thinks people still talk that way... Take this test: What does "peel" mean? What is "Thizz" Explain "purple" |

Umm.... It looks like a sailboat? Or is that a Rorschach test? |

Oh my god! I already got PWNED. Why would you post pseudo-gay Rush pictures?! |

I honestly though that rap was just a fad that would go the way of the Smurfs and Cyndi Lauper.
Unfortunately, hatred of Da Man is a strong and unifying force that reaches across all racial, ideological and socioeconomic lines. The nice cardboard dancing faded away, but the general thuggery remained. Run-DMC was cool though from time to time There's a backseat lover, that's always undercover and I talked till my daddy say, said "ya ain't seen nothin till your down on a muffin, and theres sure to be a change in way" now theres a cheerleader, that's a real big pleaser as far as I could reminice and the best thing lovin' was you sister and your cousin and it started with a little kiss, like this She start swingin' with the boys in school and her feet are flyin' up in the air singin hey diddle diddle with the titty in the middle, and you swingin like you just dont care so I took a big chance at the highschool dance with a lady who was ready to play it wasn't me she was foolin' cause she new what she was doin when she told me how to walk this way, she told me to CHORUS walk this way, talk this way (x2) she told me to walk this way, talk this way (x2) just give me a kiss...like this school girl sleezy with a classy kinda sassy little skirt hangin way up her knee there were three young ladies in a school gym locker and I find there were lookin at D I was a highschool loser never made it with a lady till the boys told me somethin' i miss then my next door neighbor had a daughter, had a favour and I gave the girl a little kiss, like this she start swingin' with the boys in the school, with your feet flyin up in the air singin hey diddle diddle with the titty in the middle I was swingin like I didnt care so I took a big chance at the highschool dance with the miss who was ready to play wasn't me she was foolin, cause she knew what she was doin when she told me how to walk this way, she told me to CHORUS "Walk This Way" (Aerosmith, Run Dmc) |

If I ever should happen to run into any of them in a bar, I'll have to ask:
"Umm...2112...the outfits. WTF were you thinking???!!!"

Aha! THAT's who that chick is! I don't remember seeing the face behind that song. Let the music play! He won't get away! You couldn't escape that song. Hell, they STILL play it at dances, from what I hear.... |

Peel, what happens to his skin when he catches a load of buckshot from my shotgun for tagging walls on our business property. Thizz, the sound a sucking bullet hole in the chest might make when I use something other than a shotgun. Purple, the color of his blood that is rich with oxygen after hitting him in a major artery. If it's anything other than those 3, I don't give 2 shits. I have had to paint out my fair share of tagging wars that have occured on our business property and those son of a bitch worthless assholes deserve the Shoot, Shovel, Shut up treatement. |

SteyrAug et al
You are making commentary about the past. Well so am I. I said exactly what it was like where I grew up. Dont like it? Awwww.... poor babies. A few old school rap groups put out a FEW decent hits. But this is the "music" that spawned the "hey lets pretend were black" and "lets idolize pimps and ho's movement" and cannot forget "thugz" .... oh those wacky upstanding American citizens. I have no use for the genre of music and its proponents or participants. Yeah, I must be a racist alright for liking REAL music by black people, back when they would learn actual instruments and play in REAL bands. 70's Funk walks all over rap-crap with spiked boots all day. Yep I am so racist And I have the same feeling of disgust about garbage bands like slayer or sepultura and the rest of that friggen garbage. With your logic that makes me a hater of white people too, eh? CavVet needs to check his panties, they must be too tight yet again. Perhaps there is too much sand in the mangina. Go wave your bullcrap racist flag somewhere else... Not buyin' the stupidity you are sellin'. Dram out |
Like many movements Hip Hop went into directions few people intended. In contrast to the later "thug crap" early Hip Hop (especially Run) contained some of the most positive messages in any music. Despite being there in the beginning, around 1979, even I quit listening sometime after the early 90s. And I felt robbed. |

Actually you said...
Now if you had said rap just wasn't your thing or you were into something else THEN you would be correct. But that isn't what you said. You basically said that white kids who listen to rap are "acting black" and that makes you NO DIFFERENT from your counterparts on DUh.com who insist that CavVet is "acting white" for hanging out with us rednecks on a gun forum and listening to Twisted Sister back in the 80s. The fact that I was into Breaking no more makes me a person who was trying to be "black" than my 30 years study of martial arts makes me a person who is trying to be "Japanese." And if you wake up in the morning and worry about if your [clothes, music, speech] is [black, white, asian] enough then you are a racists. And this is why black racists become concerned about receiving too much education (lest they become "white") and white ractists become concerned about listeing to rap (lest they become "black"). As I am not a racist, I don't concern myself with such shit. I was born white so I don't have to worry about being white. I only concern myself with being civilized, honorable and such so I can listen to rap, spin on my head, watch Bruce Lee movies and eat Sushi all without concern for my race. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go listen to some hardcore negro music. |

+1 don't forget the SeX PiSt0Ls |

only now can i properly appreciate the fact that i'm too young to remember any of this...............
Can't forget |
Actually, I was into both (in true Arfcom fashion) at the time! Not the break dancing part though. |
I had a pair of mismatched (Red/Green) Chucks AND Adidas in my bedroom.
RunDMC,AC/DC and Fatboys tapes drove my father nuts. As far as the hair bands and such, I grew up with 3 older sisters in the house, So Ive seen my share of Aqua-net and DL posters. My oldest sister saved up her coke money and bought a leather Michael Jackson zipper jacket and leg warmers once at the mall |

Fucking A! Misfits! |

pwnag3.
And Im not acting White because of what I do or who I hang out with.... ...or the first song I wake up singing. |
Sorry, just because your reading comprehension is 0 does not make your illusionary ideas any more palpable.
Where I grew up that was the way it was. Not any more, but back in the day that was fact. Young white teens did NOT act like blacks. In a few years that began to change. That is commentary. Apparently you cant handle that. Too bad, so sad. If you had asked a white boy from my school if he would act black, you likely would have gotten stares or perhaps the odd fist thrown. You made it clear you hung out with the brothers. Goody for you. Different area of the country completely from me, different culture. I still think it is offensive to act like a wigger. Ever hear the song by the Offspring "Give it to me baby"? Others, and they are liberal to the core, think the same thing I do. Wannabe's make me sick. Did then, same now. So, just cry yer' lil' eyes out about racism, because that doesnt wash here with me. I collect Japanese nihonto, armor, and eat Japanese food too... but you dont catch me looking or acting like I am Japanese. No comment on 70's funk? Didnt read that part? Dont want to read that part? Yeah, wave yer' lil' racist flag and whine about the man.... that will teach me. Some peoples children. Whatever. Dram out |
There you are again. I was NOT "acting black" anymore than CavVet "acts white." Hanging with the brohem doesn't make me "black" either. I means I had black friends with similar interests. This is why CavVet posts HERE with the "white folks." But those similar interests don't make him an "Uncle Tom" wannabe white anymore than rap makes me "black." I also hung out with the asians when I studied martial arts. Was I a chinker? |
Actually Steyr, that's a Wink. And if you listen to tejano music, you become a Wic. If you hang out at flea markets and like chicken soup, then you're a Wike. |
You ARE racist. You try and define what is "white or black" by things like what kind of music a person listens to. You are concerned with what makes a white person "white" or a black person "black." Besides being stupid, that is RACISM. Now racism, despite what Jessie Jackson will tell you, isn't always bad. Racism can be completely benign and simply ignorant. Randy Weaver was a racist, but I don't think he harbored "ill will" towards other races. He simply defined his world view by race, just as you seem to. I personally can't buy into it because that would mean I have more in common with Charles Manson than Colin Powell and I know who I'd rather live next door to. And just to establish EXACTLY what you think (in case I'm wrong and you simply poorly expressed your ideas) do you ALSO think a black person who likes heavy metal is "acting white"? |
Somebody better tell Jimi.... |
I wish he would enlighten us, honestly. I don't get the whole 'acting white' or 'acting black' thing. No one has a monopoly on music, modes of dress, methods of speech, or vernacular. It's not 'white' or 'black,' it just is. I'm whte because I was born that way. I cannot 'act black.' I can act ignorantly; I can speak ignorantly, as well. But no one has a monopoly on ignorance, either. Certainly, I find it distansteful to listen to 'ebonics,' and look at people with their pants hanging half off their ass. I also dislike listening to 'redneck' mumbling from people who can't put on a shirt or fasten their damned overalls. Whichever form it may take, it boils down to the same thing, and in reality has nothing to do with race or color. |
Just stupid. Hard rock is one thing, Metal is something totally different. Twisted Sister wasnt Heavy Metal was it?? |
Hell, just put a sheet over your head, and join the fun. |
You and Bill Clinton. Shok |
You girls still have not addressed my fondness for 70's funk.
But you can be darn sure I dont dress like George Clinton. You still dont address the concept of wannabe's. Which it sounds like you were. Just keep banging your one note drum. Yawn.... Because its obvious you have nothing to add that would intelligently contribute to our debate. Racist/Racism sexist/sexism whatever ism you would like to bandy about... go for it sport. Yawn.... Just waiting for the nazi or 88 stuff to be tossed around. You have no idea what I believe or listen to... and I just dont give a good hoot if you do or not as it doesnt matter. Some of the names you guys come up with are funny though. Laters |
Before there was Heavy Metal..... KISS was called a 'punk' band in the media.... |
Ya music is music but RAP isnt music. Rap is crap. I believe Metallica came out somewhere around 1984. Van Halen came out with an albulm called 1984, there were other alternatives. |
1984.... |
Because I listened to rap and had black friends? As for you and racism, I only KNOW what YOU post. And YOU said...
That is NOT me making a GUESS about you. That is what YOU SAID. And what you said is absolutely racist. And it would be just as stupid as a person who said... Up here in the suburbs of Detroit... NO self respecting white boy would hop on that 70s funk bus. The hilarious thing is you can figure out why one is absurd but the other isn't. You then go on about how you liking 70s funk makes you NOT a racist and also not a wannabe. But at the same time, me liking rap in the early 80s clearly makes me a wannabe. |

Shut up cracker... |
You need another goddamn job. You have WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY too much friggin' time on your hands.
Funny, though. Sad, but funny. |
Shit, I was listening to Dio in the '84 or '85. [feeling old] |
LOL...... |
