Just posting about some shit that really pisses me off. I have a 10 y/o kid that likes anime, everything from Puffy Ami Yumi to Naruto, Teen Titans, etc. So, after homework and dinner, last night, my kid was on the website for Cartoon Network looking at stuff and I left the room to check on something, and she did a google search for some other stuff. Well Fuck Me Dead!! One of the first websites to come up was an anime "porn" site.

Needless to say, she left the computer and told me about an inappropriate site (we've discussed these things before) and I checked it out. I hit the back button and went back to google, and sure as fuck, the first site listed was for the anime porn site. What the fuck is it with these porn sites? How do they get the top listing? More imporatantly, why does google allow a porn site to buy the top listing for kids cartoons?

They're libtards who want to get paid. They're going to say, "don't judge us it's freedom of speech".

actually I think the exact excuse is they are just transfering "Data."  Its just "data" a bunch of 1's and 0's in a sequence, it could be anything.

I know that with my google tool bar it has a Safe Search feature on it that's supposed to exclude the porn.

You choose to turn it on or off.

Google has a staff who's job it is to prevent the pron sites from coming up. However, they are not perfect.

Send them an email with the site link and tell them what it is.

I hate the whole anime craze.  People watching shittily animated emo stories, thinking they are deep and unique in doing so.  Most anime fans are mentally deficient.  Trust me, some of my friends love that shit.

I guess this is Japan's way of getting revenge.

Online porn is a 3 billion dollar a year business. Most of the technology used online today was developed by the porn industry. Search engine optimization is no exception. They are the very best at it.

Yes, but it's not perfect.

Third party software is probably a better bet as they seem to chose to include websites instead of exclude.  So, the likelyhood that an anime porn site will specifically get included is very unlikely.  Also, porn companies do not put the childsafe headers in their webpages that these programs also check.

Yeah, Cheptrickfan, maybe if you hadn't switched over your google toolbar to allow for porn surfing, your kid wouldn't have been exposed to that!

I watch it because I want to see scantily-clad women and high-tech robots destroying things. But for some reason the creators always put in some "soap-opera drama" into it. I just fast-forward past those parts and go to the good stuff.

That search phrase was probably google-bombed by the owner of the site.

With all of the different search terms out there, I'm not sure how Google could police its result sets or even be able to derive the webpage content (assuming the site does not contain key phrases). The best thing about the internet is that it can be self policing: send Google a message about it.

Kudos to you, as it sounds like your kid has a good head on her shoulders for alerting you to the site.

This just goes to show how utterly screwed up the Japanese are. Imagine going to your local 7/11 store to buy some Disney books and on the shelf next to it is Disney porn; welcome to Tokyo. The really sick thing is that many of the artists who create the legit manga are the same ones who draw the hentai-versions (porn) of the same manga. Bizarre culture.

Same thing happened to my daughter when she went to the "Barbie" website

And never let them Google "My Little Pony!!!"

Freaks.

I don't allow my kids anywhere near the computer unless I am right there with them.  But like you, getting up for a glass of water should not mean they are subject to that filth at their age.

One thing I have found to get around it is to type "official" in front of the search criteria.   It doesn't kill it all, but most sites like Barbie and My Little Pony and GI Joe that are actually porn do not have "official" in the title.

You're right - that is a very good point.

Good on you, Cheaptrickfan, for keeping tabs on your kids' online activities.

Also, and I'm no Windows expert, but doesn't Windows have some kind of online safety settings for to prevent kids from seeing that kind of stuff?

FWIW- and I don't know what you know about anime so I'll assume it isn't much - anime is just like a microcosm of the entire film industry. There's fantasy, sci-fi, kid stuff, action and "adult" stuff (AKA hentai). Unfortunately a lot of parents think that because it's animated, it's OK for kids to watch... well, that isn't the case I'm sorry to say. It's just as likely you'll find something kid-friendly as it is you'll find something very sexual or violent in nature.

To complicate matters, there are the porno types that include innocuous terms in their search library so their nasty stuff pops up when you search for "anime" or even a specific kind of anime.

I don't use a google bar, or yahoo, or any of them. I use firefox and run everything through a popup blocker and have never really had any problems. Since I clean my cache/history every day, I didn't save the site info. Nevertheless, seeing "naked" pictures of disney characters getting screwed isn't something a 10 y/o needs to see.

Is the animated porn explicitly based on those non-adult TV shows that you listed?

For example, the Teen Titans is owned by DC comics, they have the rights to all "derivative works." I would think that someone could get them for copyright infringement.

Other than that, you just have to acccept that there is lots of  porn on the internet, use a filter, put the computer in a place where everyone can see what's going on, that's probably the best you can do...

10 y/o kid that likes anime

That's the problem.  Why would you let a kid anywhere near that type of garbage?

When I was in the army, I knew a bunch of guys that were into that stuff.  About 99% of it was porn, and a good portion of the anime was about rape and other violence against women.  Two of the guys that work for me know have a huge collection of anime rape scenes.  I don't understand why the so enjoy, for example, seeing tentacles rape a strange looking girl.  I'm constantly having to delete that garbage from computers and server here.z

I like pix of naked chicks but that anime porn is just creepy. It seems that whatever you type into a search engine will eventually reveal some pornographic web sites (at least by page 10). At work I once typed in a search for information on "equipment used for eddy current testing" and sure enough I got hits for websites that deal with "equipment for better sex" "current swingers in my area" "used and abused women for pleasure" "testing the limits of (you don't want to know)" and a website where some guy named Eddy posts pictures of (you REALLY don't want to know) for other men to enjoy

The internet is truly a lawless frontier, be careful out there!

NEWSFLASH:

Porn merchants are scumsucking weasels.

And they don't care who they end up showing their crud to.

Remember this rant the next time you hear one of us fundamentalist Christians complain about how accessible porn is to children.

You might want to try setting your Google preferences. If you go to Google and click on preferences, you can set an option towards the bottom that says "Safe Search Filtering". Set it to its highest level and that will keep MOST of the porn away from the kiddies. Using that and searching for anime, I didn't get any explicit images in my search, though I did get a site dedicated to "cute anime girls"

I'm not advocating getting rid of porn sites.  If you want to click a button and rub one out and jizz on your lap, more power to you.

I'm saying they need to be SELECTIVE in the way the wording is allowed.  Porn sites from a search engine should have a huge, red warning that it is 18+ only for nudity and sexual situations.  When some of us think "Barbie" we think of the favorite toy doll our daughters enjoy.  The fact there is a porn site out there named Barbie is sickening from a very common sense point of view.  Same with My Little Pony.

The fact they try to hide the content with innocent sounding names is what sickens me.

Edit for fat fingers.  No, I wasn't rubbing one out

Check out your local Barnes and Noble sometime.  Bout a year ago, I was in there looking for books on Boston Terriers and the opposite side of the shelf had about 4 "tween" boys going "check that one out!".

They sounded very happy with the selection so I assumed they were game books or cool comics.  I find what I'm looking for and go around to check out the cool stuff.  There were about (no kidding) 300 small semi-hardcover anime books.  I pick a few up and they were loaded with surprisingly detailed sex acts featuring very young looking and some what androgynous characters.

They were JUST vague enough to escape being obvious and outright porn, but there was no doubt of the content.

That is NORMAL in Asian culture. I had a girl pen pal send me an activity book when I was about 10 years old. Let's just say it'd probably have a NC-17 rating in modern times. She told me it was normal...

If those manga were scattered in with the "normal" stuff, then B&N needs to be smacked down. I'm guessing that they just look at the cover and assume that they are all the same. Hell, they keep the porno mags in their own section, this should be no different.

I don't like the idea of kids having easy access to pron either.  Changes by the internet should be voluntary and from the industry.  Until then, internet access is voluntary.  If you are trying to restrict them then you are no better than a stupid liberal trying to ban guns.

I am scared because you talked about my jizz.  You need to end your fascinations now dude- I don’t swing that way.  No man should ever talk about another man’s jizz- that is ghey-er than prom night in San Francisco.

Here is a heterosexually refreshing picture to remove ghey contamination from Richard’s fascination with my jizz.

A warning and a restriction are two different things.  If you can't understand that little bit of difference, you'll need to gab away at someone else on this site who wears their tinfoil tighter.

However, I do appreciate the pic!  YUM!

I believe it depends on the word being used.

If, for instance, I searched for "vibrator", I believe sexually explicit results would come up.

Sometimes this happens with words that aren't quite so blatantly explicit as well. I was searching for factory wheels for a 1993 Ford Bronco and I got some sexually explicit ad bar content because one of the words I used must have been big in the whole porn world.
