No one sits on my desk. They just don't. However, people may sit on a side table in a crowded conference. I've never looked at it the same way you do. Butt I do think it is a behavior in attempt to show dominance. (intentional pun)

It's what goes on when your away from your desk that should really bother you, I wouldn't be surprised if half your co-workers were rubbing the business end of your phone up and down their asscracks.
