We are talking about the XFL at work, didnt anyone watch it "back in the day"?
Link Posted: 1/15/2006 11:37:00 AM EDT
I always thought it sounded like everyone was dry heaving when they would snap the ball.

I remember the dumbass that put "He Hate Me" on his jersey.

I watched the first couple games. I liked it, especially their version of the coin toss.

And IIRC, "He hate me" played in a NFL Super Bowl.

"He Hate Me" turned that stint in the NFL into a career with the Carolina Panthers. While I thought he was a dumbass at the time, now I'm not so sure.

He can return the fuck out of a punt.

Yeah, I used to watch it.

Like SS109, I liked the way they did the coin toss.

It wasn't too bad, I liked how they were mic'd up though

going to the superbowl does not mean that you are not a dumbass, it means that you are good at playing football. T.O. and Randy Moss are good at football but they are still prety fucking stupid.

BTW who is He Hate Me anyway, I knew he played in the NFL just don't know who he is.

I thought it was super retarded...all that hype about "extreme rule changes" and whatnot didn't really amount to anything spectacular. Now if they made it into an NFL Blitz type game, then maybe I'd watch

how did they do the coin toss again?

In the beginning of each game, the Scramble replaced a coin toss for possession rights. One player from each team was placed side-by-side at midfield, and the two raced each other 15 yards to a football. The player recovering the ball won the possession or deferment rights for his team.

I think they put the ball in the middle and had the two teams line up on opposing ends of the field and scramble for it. Whoever won kept possession.

I barely watched a quarter then I got bored and never went back
Link Posted: 1/15/2006 12:29:54 PM EDT
I thought it was gonna be a success with all the money and time that went in to start it.

Nope, two players, (running backs?) lined up side by side, and raced for the ball.

Somebody swiped my XFL ball.
That was the coolest thing about the league.

HAHAHAHAHAHA You actualy watched that shit?

I also liked the fact that a punted ball was "live". Some guys got straight knocked the fuck out on punt returns.

Tommy Maddox played for the LA team that won the first and only XFL championship. He had a few good years with the steelers and now is the backup.

I went with some friends to watch the Memphis Maniacs play once.

The only thing memorable about the whole game was when a ref made a bad call and the fans started throwing their plastic Miller light bottles onto the field. There was litteraly so many bottles that they had to delay the game and clean off the field. After that night, people were limited to two beers at a time at that stadium.

I watched it twice and completely lost interest.

His performance in that Championship game was phenomenal. I watched most of it and told my wife that he just earned himself another shot at the NFL.
