From their site:

"If you do decide that you want to get rid of your guns, you can call the non-emergency number of your local police department and ask if they will pick it up.

What are the steps to turn in a gun?

   * Make sure that the gun is unloaded and secure. (If you do not know how to do this call someone who can do this for you.)
   * Get the make model and serial number of the gun or guns. (Some guns, especially long guns, that are old do not have serial numbers.)
   * Call your County Sheriff's Office or local Police. They may give you additional instructions.
   * When you turn in the gun or guns you might ask for a receipt
   * If the gun is legal, you can arrange for it to be transferred to an FFL."

I have to give them some credit, though; they seem to endorse the Eddie Eagle program.

Someone here needs to do a gun buyback program.

Sounds nicer than turn in your guns.

Why let the cops get all the buybacks/ turn-ins?

We need our own buyback program... give the guns a good home!

Please do the following after you turn in your gun:

1. Give all your money and possessions to the men that will be paying you a visit in the middle of the night.

2. Tell your wife and children to do what they say.

3. Bend over.

4. Kiss your ass goodbye.

So just give these old wives my number. I'll be glad to take their deceased husbands guns off their hands. See, problem solved!

You should also discuss gun safety with other parents or family members if your child spends time in their homes. It is not enough to assume that if they do have guns in the house, then they have them stored properly.

Why the fuck don't you teach the CHILD gun safety?

Is that a loaded SUV he has? I hear those are very dangerous to possess. Perhaps we should call the ATF to handle that one.

You go ahead and laugh, But when I lived in DC, they did a gun buy back program through the police and they got a huge turn out.  But I did have to wonder how many were either stolen, potential evidence, or otherwise.  How funny would that be, A gangbanger kills a guy then turns in his gun to the police, who give him 50 bucks then destroy it for  him.

Eddie Eagle says:

STOP!

Don't Touch.

Leave the Area.

Tell an Adult.

I thought McGruff said that.

Will the cops come get the damned washing machine and broken La-Z-Boy out of my carport if I call their non-emergency number? If not, why not? If some enterprising soul kills two people, taking out Person A with a worn-out washing machine and Person B with a busted BarcaLounger, will they then come and take this crap so I have someplace to store old newspapers and lay my pumpkin seeds out to dry? Where's the justice? That's what I want to know. Where is the justice?
