I'm more interested in the commercials.

Of course last year I had the stomach flu and was more interested in making it to the toilet before throwing up.

Time watching TV is "wasted."

Time on ARFCOM is merely "spent."

BTW, when's it on & who's playing?  I hope there's a lot of home runs.

The first part is why I asked - I had no idea when the super bowl is supposed to be held this year.

But every year they hype the hell out of it on TV.

By the looks of the poll, most people here don't give a rat's ass about it.

Noop! Don't care whatsoever!

I don't care who wins.  I only care to watch if the two teams are both good.

I would rather watch paint  dry!

[#20]
I would watch if they cut out a few things, like the half-time show, the 2 hr pre-game and post-game shows, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters should be eliminated too.  Basically, boil that sucker down to showin me some cheerleaders and funny comercials, wrap it up in 30 minutes, and I'm there.

Oh, I guess you could have somebody kick the ball, but just once.  That's always the boring part that makes me glad I'm not a fan.

i only watch it for the NIP SLIPs

I "watch" it every year if watching means:   hanging out with my buddies and drinking a lot of beer while the game is on in the background.

What is this   "super bowl" you speak of?

Yes, especialy if the Redskins make it there.

My tv is dedicated to my PS2.  It's not allowed to really have anything else on it.
It'll explode if I turn it to anything like football.  No joke!

I forced myself to watch it last year....I did not get the point.

Nope. I have no clue who's playing and hope to keep it that way..

Seeing as how it's in Detroit this year, and the Lions have not a chance in hell if even being invited to watch...much less play in it.... I am dreading the day.

I just hope that night when I am working I am not working Detroit, but only the suburbs...I imagine traffic and everything else will be screwy and I don't want to deal with driving around drunk/stupid people that night.

Hell, I almost got hit on New Year's morning driving around eastside/downtown Detroit. and saw a head on collision.

Care is a strong word....I typically watch the game each year...I enjoy football as a sport, but I would rather play it than watch it any day. I have played on and off for years in groups of guys on Sundays because I do truly love the game itself...but I really couldnt care what happens in the pro's. I root for a team, have season tickets, tailgate at every home game...but its just something I do. If it all went away tomorrow I'm fine with that....there are more important things in life.

I like college football better.  At the collegiate level, it's still about the game and the players aren't multi-millionaire prima donnas.

It's simply un-American (and unmanly) to dislike "American" football (soccer is gay).

I guess i'm not an American male since I don't follow an overly commercialized sport full of thugs and druggies.

Of course you're an American.  "Professional"(and I use the term rather loosely) football is full of thugs, drug fiends, rapists, etc.  They're overpaid prima donnas.

As stated before, I mentioned that I preferred college football since for the most part it's still about the game and for the most part their players are professional, save for a few bad apples but every sport has its good and bad players.

<----------------obviously, my enthusiasm has fallen off since last week.

But, I'll watch it and the playoffs leading up to it. I enjoy NFL games, but will NOT watch MLB, NBA, NHL games.

F- baseball and baseball players
F- NBA, and everyone associated with it
and just don't like watching hockey
