This coming from someone residing in the People's Republic of Kommifornia?
You must have been there for a long time, and have all the exemptions, registrations, etc. in place ....

What, you think that people who reside in California because they were born here, their job told them to go there or have extended family here are automagically in agreement with our fucked up laws? For fucks sake man, take a look at our hometown forum or the calguns website. We take every chance we can to backdoor the firearms laws and change them if we can.
Hell, I was born in Mercy Hospital in San Diego to long line of Californians. Clearly my last name is Lennin.
Yet more eveidence that gun owners are their own worst enemy...

Not my point.
Now that I read what I wrote, it came across as disparaging when I really meant to make the point that it's not really quite so Black & White.
For that, I apologize. I was simply too tired to more eloquently and clearly express myself. Let me rectify this lapse in tact now.
If it were so simple as "Black and White - Live Free or Die!" then all of us gun owners would be dead from raising our arms against the government as it slowly increases the strangle-hold of restrictions on our rights.
More articulately - living under the rule of such a Socialist-agendized, Politically Correct government as found in California (hence the pejorative, "Kommifornia"), you can't afford to take such a myopic, singularly driven stance such as "Live Free or Die," as you would immediately be crushed by the existing brute of system that is already in place to infringe upon your rights.
I completely agree, the only effective way to change the system is incrementally and by undermining the existing ineffective flotsam of laws and regulations that make living in California so difficult. One can only hope that your incremental restorations of personal rights accumulates more quickly than the gun-grabbers can pass more infringements .
And for the record, if it were as Black-and-White as "Live Free or Die!" I would be dead right along side you. I lived in the Bay Area for 19 years, and my family has been in Mountain View since 1907 (I was born out of state while my parents were in college, but grew up in California since the age of 4).
I was even in Berkeley for the last 4 years I was in the state (you want to see a FUCKED up Socialist hippie experiment destined to fail? Go live in the University Students Cooperative Association - what an eye-opener!).
As soon as I had the facilities about me to understand how fucked California's laws are, my wife and I left to make a life for ourselves in a place that still respects our individual rights.
So in the technical sense, I guess I'm doing exactly as Gunplay says; instead of dying in California, smothered by all the assinine restrictive legislation and the oppressive overpopulation, we're Living Free in beautiful Nevada

Nothing wrong with moving, I moved most of my business to Vegas to avoid some of the draconian taxes in CA. I just refuse to be driven from my home, which I love. I might be the only gun toting neo-con left in downtown LA, but this is still America god damnit, and I don't respect any "law" that violates the basic tenants of liberty. I just posted because it’s sobering to see how many people on this board have become desensitized to this sort of action. The ATFs "Laws" mean nothing; they are organized crime pure and simple, it makes me sick.
