Yesterday as I was driving home, I was behind a Ford pickup truck. Just in case there was any doubt whatsoever what make the truck was, there was a metal sign about he size of a bumper sticker on the lid of the tool box in the bed of the truck which read "Ford Country."

Ford Country?

In case his fellow motorists behind him had an undying curiosity as to what engine was under the hood, there was not one....but TWO stickers in the rear window with the Ford trademark and "7.3 Liter Diesel" printed over it...one on the drivers side, one on the passenger side.

Talk about being a sucker for the efforts of the Ford marketing deptartment hype. Why do people get so worked up for a brand name with such zealotry?

I was a bit surprised there were no "Calivin Pissing" stickers anywhere.

United States, primarily, and the World in general. Ford Trucks have been the largest selling trucks for decades!

Actually the '7.3' is an International Engine. All the diesels that Ford has used in their trucks have been IHC engines....

The PowerStroke RULED!

My 69 Ford F-100 had alot of clues. People that drove behind me knew:

That I had Accel ignition.
That I had an Edelbrock manifold.
That I had a Holley carb.
That the previous owner liked Dos Equis.
That I had a CB radio.
That primer was finer.

Based on ford's new advertising strategy, one would gather that 'ford country' is near brokeback mountain.

Maybe Ford Country is in Europe, since he is so proud of his metric-designated engine

When you see a broken-down Ford on the side of the road, you know you're in Ford country.

I'd say Ford Country would be south of the border where the cactus and illegals graze. Ever wonder why Mexicans love Ford so much?

And Ford still manages to hemorrhage $1.4 billion in a single quarter...

If I were to put "Calvin Pissing on Ford" "Calvin Pissing on Dodge" and "Calvin Pissing on Chevrolet" stickers in the rear window of my '95 Tacoma, how long do you think it would take for my truck to suffer either shattered windows, slashed tires, bullet holes, or defecation on my hood...or all of the above?
