I just installed BF2 and am having trouble with the video settings. My monitor's native resolution is not available in the video settings. Does anyone know why this would be?

Whats your monitors resolution?

And also which video card are you using? Bf2 is one of if not the most demanding game out there for video cards.

I'll have to go home and look to see if mine lists that resolution. The 850 will handle the game easily almost as good as the 7800GTXOC I'm running myself so thats not an issue... I'm guessing from the stated resolution you have a wide screen LCD monitor?

1280 x 1024 is a standard 'square' montior. It is an LCD though.

1024x768 is the native resolution on my dell square monitor...

But it's not an LCD.

give the game a shot at 1024x768 and if you don't have any distortion I'd call it good. The game is limited by the software to around 100fps so you shouldn't loose anything doing that.
