110gxp3 or 10 gxp3 .....My question is what would you guys recommend/why?....the .308 version or 30-06 ....I was leaning towards the latter ,but have no real reason other than I don't have a 06..

30.06's only real advantage over the .308 is with really heavy bullets like 180-220 grain.  you would be well served by either one

and the beauty of savage actions is that with a spanner wrench, an action wrench, and a go gauge you can rebarrel it in a few minutes.  so you could buy the long action and shoot a huge variety of rounds through it.
