Most people who do not smoke cigars on a regular basis will not like full bodied sticks. You have to get to that point.

There is nothing wrong with people smoking Mac's, they are mild and (even the dark lines are WAY mild) they market themselves to a smoker who doesn't want that full bodied taste and 'power', they are for everyone...except those looking for a good, stiff, strong cigar.

I do not smoke Mac's anymore, I will tell you this, most of them are flawless and have great, easy draw which will make or break any cigar.

Now for a question... anyone like the Sancho Panza Double Maduro's or Extra Fuerte's?
I have been itching to buy some, but am usually dissapointed with "less-than premium" cigars.
But these seem to get high marks on forums and in magazines.

SPDM in the quixote size is my current go-to stick. I've not tried the fuertes, but have heard good things from folk I trust on them.

I smoke 1-5 cigars per month so I like them mild.  I imagine you do as well.

2 of my favorites are the Cohiba's (not cubans) in the tin pack of 6 or so and the ACID's in the tin pack as well.  Personally I can't finish a full size cigar, but the smaller ones are good enough for me.

Natural or Maduro?

I bought a box of the natural and was not really happy with them.
I have only smoke one or two so far though.
I will have one when I get home tonight, just to refresh my memory.

It is very rare that I smoke anything Nat or EMS. They are the maddies that I love. They need some time in the humi or coolerdor to become stable. I think they are rolled a little more 'wet' than most cigars from the fermenting.

I have a box or two that are over 2 years old, they are perfect. As one get low, I get another when JR's blows them out on sale. Also, the JR's store has them as their $2.00 stick on some days, that when I go buy a bunch.

Sancho Panza Dulcinea (torpedo shape) is the best non-Cuban value on the market.

I was blown away by the Carlos Torano - Exodus Gold double corona, but it is strong for a newbie.  I would recommend asking your tobacconist for a milder Torano.  I find Toranos more enjoyable than Fuentes, which can be deceptively strong.

If you're overseas, get a San Cristobal - Principe.  You won't believe how much flavor they can pack in a small cigar.  Bolivar - Petit Corona is another good intro to Habanos.

Certainly some of the best, and if you factor in the cost when you buy them by the box/mail order, there is no better deal.  The Fuentes better be looking over their shoulder.

+1 On the Fuente Hemingway Classic and TTT Maduros.

For a mild smoke try a Dunhill of the Dominican variety.

I love the Hoyo Excalibur with a nice glass of Michters rye.

I have bought several boxes of the Extra Fuerte and really like them.  They do have a LOT of flavor.

As to Macanudo, I like the Maduro line.

Currently I like Hemmingway Short Stories, Partegas Black Lable, Montechristo White, Hoyo Sumatra, and Ghukas.

I like my cigars medium to mild flavor.  A strong flavor is ok as the cigar crecendos near the end.

A good cigar under 4 bucks, a standard basic flavor is:

Arturo Fuente Cuban Carona 5 1/4'' x 45
(small to medium size, mild to medium flavor, wont stink up the car or den for long, aroma is pretty non-offensive as far as cigars go.)

For the 8 to 15 dollar range I like:

Punch Gran Cru Pyramid
(mild start, with creamy to coffee to nutty flavor (hazelnut, and a little almond) This cigar builds intensity slowly (which is what I like) It allows you time to savor the flavors as they mature.  I highley recomend the cigar with your favorite cabernet sauvignon.  If you don't like wine Coca Cola goes really good with cigars suprisingly

My new favorite right now is:

Cuesta-Rey Centenario Pyramid #9
(alot like the Punch but more woody and nutty with hint of coffee flavor to it

I think Acid's are to cigars what DPMS is to this site....

You can make your own Acid's...Take you current humidor, a bottle of grandma's perfume and pour the stuff right in there.
