"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

I wish we could re-animate TR and put him back in the Whitehouse.

We need him more now than we did in the early 1900s.

Let me be the first to say fuck tr.

I'd say TR was 'spot on' in this case.

Bring him and his "big stick" back.

I have the disinct feeling that the middle east would be beaded glass if he were runing things.

No doubt about that. And he would be able to persuade Robert Byrd to back him.

TR was a little too imperialist for my tastes.
I want GW.
The original one.

First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen.
He would roll back all the unconstitutional legislation of the past 100 years.

Too late!

Much too late.

This country was broken, finally and forever, during LBJ's 'Great Society.'

Despite the intervening Repulican Presidents and this Congress, not one jot or tittle from the 'Great Society' has been undone.

We just need to start over again.

And sooner.

BULLY!
Moral compass? Had his brother institutionalized for having an affair-with a FRENCH woman!
"Hasten forward quickly there!"

Not always a fan of some of his "progressive" policies/tendencies,but a MAN.And a man we sorely need today.

His brother should be lucky that he wasn't shot on the spot!
