So I'm doing a lot of staining in the basement and unfortunately can't take it outside due to the weather. Anything I can do for the fumes finding their way upstairs other than opening all the windows and running fans downstairs?

Yep, I prefer shiela shine and a closed elevator.

If you DON'T do anything and the fumes find an ignition source, you will be kissing your ass good bye, or spending some time in a burn center. You can try a water based polyurethane product, but I am not sure that they are non-flamable.

An activated charcoal respirator is a good deal to prevent pancreatic cancer and liver damage.

a brown paper bag will concentrate them nicely
