At work once someone brought up that the 'rule' for dating was to divide your age in half and add seven to it. If the other person is that age, or older, you should be fine.
If they are younger than that number, there will be a generation gap type thing. It seems to work out pretty well. Has anyone else heard this formula? |

1/2 my age +7 Huh?
..........22, Nah 22 yr old wemminz are FUN but Ill take my age -3, my waist size -8, my chest measurement -4 + a nice letter like "C" |
Geez! Where did you find that stupid rule....
I'm 50 years old - do the math... I'd love to have a 32 year old - but do you think any 32 year old wants me???? |
Half your age plus seven -- That's out of the "Little House On The Prairie" books. You know, Laura Ingalls Wilder.... [Hell yes, I've read them ] |
ROBERT A HEINLIEN uses that in a few of his books as well.....guess he took it from an older saying |
It works for me. 25 / 2 = 12.5+7=19.5. Legally, and for ass, it'd work. For an actual relationship, just add 7 years to my age and it oughta be ok.
My age (54) plus or minus a few years.
God, I HATE young womenz. |
I think it depends on the people involved. I wouldn't want to date a 27 year old. There might be rude and disgusting things I might want to do with one many times in one night, but I wouldn't do it. I'm too old and know better.

Fixed it for ya |

Hell yeah... why do you think otherwise? The key to hooking up with a younger woman/any woman is to set yourself apart from the regular joe, looking at your avitar, it seem like you are into flying? well, you can take advantage of that skill and take her up flying on your first date. Another example, is to drive a car/truck that says a lot about yourself, you don't have to spend a ton to impress the women, I'd rather drive a '68 F100 or a lifted custom CJ5 (Jeep) than be seen driving a lower end Mercedes, etc... bottom line is, you have to do everything in extremes meaning if I can't have the best, I'd rather have the older rig, etc. and oh head down to AOPA and get yourself an AOPA decal for your truck.... it's been proven to be a chick magnet... |

Yeah. Part of it is taking care of yourself: Be fit, dress decently, project confidence, etc. Flirting skills are critical. Any guy that's serious about hooking up with women should get the book "How to Succeed with Women". If you follow its program, you'll have to keep notes on the women you're seeing to keep them straight if that's what you're looking for. Or, it will help you perhaps land a date with that particular woman you have your eye on to see if you two are compatible. http://www.howtosucceedwithwomen.com/ (Buy the book at amazon & save a bundle) Works like a charm. I'm a balding, average-looking 38-YO guy and I have little problem finding very attractive dates from women 10-15 years younger (what I prefer) to my age or even older. I've found a good one right now and have settled down from the dating scene, but I've been far from lonely as a "single" male since I found this book about 7 years or so ago. Of course, once you've got yourself the woman on your dreams, I don't recommend getting married as often the fun stops with the words "I do." To say nothing of the financial pitfalls! If it's legal, fuck it !! Chuck would...
...I've dated 21 year olds that were more mature and balanced than 30 year olds I have date. It depends on the person. |
15 1/2?! I think not. Try more like 18-21. (I'm far too young to attempt to use that rule). That rule does seem to work rather well for 14yr olds though...
Dusty, Thought we are not the same age, we think alike!!! Young for "stuff" old for relationships! GR |

Those be my womenz! |
Sounds good to me cuz you always you always a younger girl but it depends on how old you are. say your 100: 100/2=50+7=57.....well now that I think of it...go for it man.
Why not? If you got one you might as well enjoy it. Use it and abuse it!!! He's young, he'll heal. |
Recently I tried 1/2 my age +2 - it didn't work out so well. |
I prefer the simpler rule:
Attractive and willing! Further screening to be done LATER. CJ |

Ok, lots of fun here.
The rule is an Islamic one about men and women. That is, half the man's age plus 7 is a good woman's age. Sorry Patty, but good try! Probably some truth to it but not sure where. My wife is 3 years younger than I (51 and 54), don't know the math equation for that but we get along good together. Rick |
14 is legal in Hawaii...
Damn, my math sucks, half my age plus 7 is 19, too old for my taste. |
The equation would be ... [your age] - 3 |
!#$@, did my math wrong 19/2=9 1/2, not 8 1/2. Still, 17 is a little too young for me in my opinion.
It worked for me when I was six or seven.
Now it is like fishing. Pull out the drivers license and check 'em against the legal limit. |
