It seems it was determined by investigation he was INdirectly responsible for the actions in Lebanon. Were the so called civilians really just unarmed civilians? In 1982 he was directly/indirectly (depending on how you look at it) responsible for the massacre of Sabra and Shatila Palestinian refugee camps outside Beirut. The actual killing was done by Lebanese militias with the green light from Sharon. While the massacre was going on inside the camps, the Israeli army (under Sharon) cordoned off the area. I do not believe that there was any fighting going on inside the camp during the massacre. I think that most or all of the people that were killed were civilians.

That is the lie though NO ONE has EVER been able to show Sharon was in ANY WAY involved other than by smear.

One thing I always find odd about this massacre is the body count is counted at between 700 and 3500. Seems strange that an accurate body count can't be made of a massacre that happened in a very small, contained area.

At the end of the day Sabra and Shatila was one group of Arabs killing another group of Arabs.

That same year the Syrian President had his army murder about 20,000 civilians in Hama to put down the Muslim Brotherhood. Funny how that almost never gets any press. Since no Western leader can be blamed I guess the victims don't matter. Which is the heart of the accusations against Sharon. The people that make them couldn't give a shit about the dead civilians. They just want to throw mud and hope some sticks.

Yep that was a predictable meaningless political finding. "Indirectly" responsible means they could find nothing so they made up a finding to fit those facts.

There is no reason to believe anything Sharon could have done would have changed the outcome.
