Had to get a steroid shot last Friday. Thing is still hurting, and I'm not doing anything except typing.

Yes.  First one was in 1994.  About six shots and two surgeries in the left shoulder later, it still hurts.  Now it needs another surgery...and the right one is worse.

Don't be a girly-man boy.  Get a shot and start working it out.  It WILL get better (been there--done that)

Ice it.
Let it rest.
After it is gone, work on your strengthening your deltoids.
