I'm getting ready to re-finance my house, any members have tips for a bank they worked with that had great rates and/or service?

I refinanced mine twice at a no cost mortgage place.  Yeah it cost me a 0.5% higher mtg rate but I went from 7.625% to 6.5% for nothing and later on from 6.5% to 6.0% for $0.  They didn't add the fees to my current mtg balance or anything either.  The going rates at my refinances were 6.0% and 5.5% respectively.

Either way a free int rate reduction is free.  If you pay closing costs of say $4000 for example, and it saves you $200 a month in interest, you won't make be ahead for 20 months.  21 months later you can feel smug for saving $200 in interest, BFD.  You can save $K's in interest anyway by prepaying principle too.  I tried to catch the bottom of the refinance game and was going to go down to 5.5% when the mkt rates were 5.0% but it would save me only about $60 a month, I was hoping the rates would go down further and they did, but I held out for even lower and bam! They shot up

Call up your current mortgage company.  You'd be amazed at the deals they can do and more importantly, the money you can save, they already have your records, they don't need to do a lot of again.  (appraisal, etc)
low doc, no doc, good rates, etc

I used LendingTree.com.

I have a lender ready to go, waiting for the underwriter to finish, hopefully on Monday.
