I went to the range last weekend with a federal agent (one of the alphabet soup angencies) and my father-in-law. We practiced various techniques and such with AR15s and pistols.

I had been shooting PMP .223 but after I ran out I switched over to Wolf.

Check out the pic below for the damage report:

There is no pic! I had no malfunctions of any kind. I had no crud build up in the chamber.

The Wolf worked flawlessly.

You're kidding, right?

I would think there are MUCH MORE inflamatory threads than this!

But I thought that Wolf ammo would ruin my rifle and make baby Jesus cry???
Link Posted: 12/31/2005 7:03:09 AM EDT
you mean your extractor didn't break??? there weren't dozens of failure to feeds due to all the laquer??? it must've made a pattern on the target about 14" wide, though

i've had great experiences with wolf as well. i think some people just have to justify spending twice as much on their black hills match target ammo...

Link Posted: 12/31/2005 7:05:12 AM EDT
I like Wolf. It's cheap and it goes bang. It's not as accurate as some other ammo, but I can still ring the gong at 300 yards with it all day long. What's not to like?

The Wolf worked flawlessly.

Thems fight'n words, mister!!

How dare you go against the conventional wisdom [propaganda] of this board.

I use Wolf almost exclusivley anymore. I've never had a problem with it.

I was leery of it at first, then I met and shot with a serious collector who runs it through his M16's all the time. Serious as in he stated he hoped to go through 3 MILLION rounds last summer. Although quite a bit of that will be in belt fed guns too. So if he doesn't have a problem with Wolf, I'm not likely to either.

Re: steel cases. Remember not all steel is hardend tool steel. The steel used in cartridge cases is very mild, soft steel. Thus there should be little to no extra damage done to extractors and all, which are hardened steel. Same for barrels and bullets with steel jackets.

You were just lucky. Won't feed worth a crap for me. Going to give it one more chance tomorrow at the New Years Day shoot-going to lube the piss out of the carrier if that doesn't work it is going to be sold off.

Oh, yeah, it's all "Oh, Wolf won't hurt me. Wolf's just fine. I have never had a problem with Wolf." The next thing you know, you're selling youself to some fat guy on the corner and you have sores on your mouth! All for more Wolf. Wolf is a gateway drug!!!!!

I thought I'd have to call the WAADL
Link Posted: 12/31/2005 8:20:35 AM EDT
Well, as a more practical matter...I own a DPMS, and the literature with the gun specifically states the warranty is voided if I shoot Wolf ammo.

How they would know this, I dunno...but a warranty is a warranty.

Wolf also causes:

Chuck Norris to roundhouse kick crying baby Jesus

The .gov to transmit more mind control rays

Melting of the polar ice caps

More people to repeat the Mattel rumor

Arguments on .45 vs 9mm

and impotence

Funny story about that. I was getting my gear out of my truck today and started chit-chatting with another person there. He was complaining about people not picking up their brass, and pointed to a pile of rusty Wolf empties. I half-heartedly agreed, but I didn't have the heart to tell him all that was from the last time me and my buddy were at the range
Link Posted: 12/31/2005 1:21:30 PM EDT
It jammed repeatedly in a NEF heavy barrel I had, would not eject. But that was the laquer stuff. And reference the steel cases, I got bored one day and reloaded about thirty. They sized and shot fine.

Is Wolf made in U.S.A. ??
Link Posted: 12/31/2005 2:01:02 PM EDT
Wolf is about all myself and my friends shoot anymore. Heck, I can harly load the stuff for cheaper.
Link Posted: 12/31/2005 2:22:38 PM EDT
I only shoot wolf in .45, 7.62x39, and .223...

Because its the best, pricewise.
Link Posted: 12/31/2005 2:33:57 PM EDT
Here's my experience with Wolfe (all 7.62x39mm)

1. 1200 rounds through Yugo 59/66 SKS: 1 malfunction (short-stroke)

2. 300 rounds through Hungarian AKM: Zero malfunctions

3. 600 rounds through Vector RPD: Zero malfunctions

So in 2100 rounds, I've had one ammo related malfunction. That's very acceptable considering that I saved maybe $100+ by using Wolfe for those 2100 rounds.

I'd like to shoot Wolf if I could..Who doesn't like cheap ammo? I gave my DPMS several chances on it and it gagged every time..

My other guns (not AR's) do fine with it
Link Posted: 12/31/2005 3:44:06 PM EDT
Oh yeah........

Wolf Ammo caused the War of 1812.

Wolf Ammo was behind the Oil for Food Scandal.

Wolf Ammo is in conspiracy with the Freemasons to take over the world.

Wolf Ammo is a member of the Democratic Party.

Wolf Ammo doesn't wipe after it shits.

Wolf Ammo always leaves the toilet seat down and pees on it.

Wolf Ammo will make you obese.

Wolf Ammo will cock block you.

Wolf Ammo is that same asshole that picked on you in high school.

Wolf Ammo likes to look at scat porn, on your PC and blames it on you.

Wolf Ammo always chucks it's old chewing gum on the ground in the parking lot.

Wolf Ammo kicks puppies.

Wolf Ammo eats babies.

But Wolf Ammo does not KB guns, at least not with any more frequency than any other good ammo.

Nope...

RUSSIA

Personally, I love Wolf for .223, 7.62x39 and .45ACP...

Brass-cased surplus is still cheaper for .308, and for 9mm, wally world Winchester comes out on top, as Wolf actually costs more locally or with shipping...
