For me, it was my first gun - an FEG PJK9HP, a Hungarian copy of the Browning HP.
It was super-super accurate, had a slightly worked trigger and a polished feed ramp. I could nail all 13 rounds in the scored areas of a B27 NRA target at 25 yards as fast as I could pull the trigger (about 8 seconds). I got it for $225, and sold it for $100. You? |
Nope.
Sold two guns that I bought in fits of stupidity. Don't regret selling them, either. |
I try not to sell any. That solves that problem. I sold one FAL, but it had become a safe queen at that point. I still don't miss it.
Sold your first gun?!?!? BLASPHEMY! Sold 3 guns, one pistol and 2 rifles. No regrets, i found something that I personally shot better. |
Kimber Custom with VZ grips I was almost driving myself crazy till I replaced it
an original Pietro Beretta 92 SB before the US Army contract. It was Italian made.
I was broke and I needed the money for an airline ticket......I wish I could get it back |
2 1/2 inch S&W model 66. Round butt, pinned barrel, recessed cylinders.
Colt Sporter II Carbine Green label. Awesome carbine! I regret selling it but sold it before the ban expired and bought a LE 6520 for alot less. I'm a shooter, not a collector, so it did someone more good than me...
EAA Witness Polymer framed 9mm. Shot great, Never had a single jam of any sort. Needed rent money years ago so i sold it. Same story with a old used Winchester 94 in 30.30 i got as deer rifle in the early 90's as a teenager.
My colt 6551 and SP1
I sold both to people behind the lines in NY so I do not feel too bad I sold my mid 90s M1A but I sold it to a buddy and was able to buy it back |
I bought a Ruger Super Blackhawk for $15. Sold it five years later for $150. Shoulda kept it.
Grendel SRT-26 in .308.
About a year later, I found out it was the last one that ever came off the production line. |
This reminds me of the time I PAWNED my Springfield M1A WITH THE FIRST GEN SPRINGFIELD SCOPE ON IT for $750 so that I could pay rent on a failing business that went away two months later. Guess I forgot that one when I started this thread. Goddamnit! |
Benelli M1 S90 tact.
i sold it cuz i wasnt using it for anything.. but i still miss it |
I sold my first gun, Ruger 10/22, that was stupid. I got more than I paid for it so at the time I thought it was a good move. Wish I still had it.
Stupid was also selling a EOTech 552 HDS for $200 because I needed some money. |
1941 johnson, mint condition, sold it for 2k, bought it for 1200 its worth 4-5 now, go figure.
Ruger #1S 300 winmag. An Early 80's model that shot awesome.
Stealth, you are an idiot. |
Believe it or not, my Diasy 99 Champion with target peep sights. If someone finds it, I'll trade an AK for it...every single other gun I have had since has been replaceable.
Got it when I was 7 and was stuck to it for years. When I was an irreverant teenager and it was gathering dust in the closet, I sold it in a garage sale. You get older and centimental about crap like that. |
AR15 SP1, Russian AK47, Colt 70 series and an aluminum framed Officers Colt - Sold them all in 1989 before I PCS'ed out of California.
Figured that I could always buy replacements when I got back to California.... |
"D 'oH!" [/Homer] |
Smith&Wesson 686, it was my first centerfire double action. I traded it for a Ruger Security Six. I still have and love the Ruger, I still want the 686 back though.
In two weeks of much needed revenue (had to pay for my daughter's medical bills) during the ban, I sold the following:
Sig AMT in .308 HK-91 HK-93 Egyptian MAADI 6 Mak-90's 1st year Ruger Mini14 minty Hakim AG-42B 13mm Anti-tank Mauser Ugh, I still cringe. |
If I was hungry Id eat dirt before I sold any guns... I can do it too... I lived on peanut butter for 2 weeks once... No bread, just peanut butter..
I dont eat peanut butter anymore BTW... |
My 1955 HRA Garand, that rifle was basically brand new all parts matching, but on the flip side I sold it to fund my LRB M14
Remington Nylon 77. Not rare but it was a gift from my dad, now he's gone and I really regret it even more.
My Ruger Redhawk in .357.......... Sold it to a mate and have regretted it ever since.......
He does look after it though and the 44 Taurus I bought does fill the empty hole in safe rather well. |
Few years back I had a russian sks stainless in mint condition.
Guess it was a honor guard model or something like that. Bought in the parking lot of a gun show for four-fifty. Sold it for same about two years ago. It was quite a interesting find. |
Sold a few that I regret...MP-40,but I got to buy a M-16 before they got too high.High Standard 10-B...with kil-lite,I was able to get another 10-B but without the Kil-lite.
sold about 6 I don't miss any of them. I could buy them all again tommorow if I wanted to for probally cheaper. I should have sold both my AR-15's though, some dealer offered me 1100 each in preban days.
SW model 29 with mint bluing and ZERO wear in a wooden velvet box. Hard up for cash and I stupidly pawned it

Colt series 70 Gov't model, in 9mm para.
The gun I WISH I had bought but was too stupid to buy was an HK 94, back when it was $850, NIB. |
Colt King Cobra ... I bought new back in the 80's ... was Mint condition ... a replacement will cost me $400 more than what I sold it for ...
I've only sold 4 so far, and of them I only regret selling a Ruger Redhawk in 45 Colt. |
Bushmaster Post-ban AR, A3 style, HBAR. Also had an ACOG on it.
Damn I miss that rifle. Got rid of it for a stupid low price also. |
Colt Green Label 6600 HBAR I bought NIB in 1990.
Sold it during the ban to fund a HK 91...The HK sucked... |
Crescent Arms (pre-1935) .410 English style side-by-side. Yes, I was dumber than a box of rocks.
sold all but my first one about 9 years ago
As far as which one.. either the 40XB in 6mm or the 600 in 6.5rem mag |
Several, a Colt .25 pocket auto that was my Dad's. What was I thinking. A Ruger Security Six I sold to a buddy on the condition he sell it back if he ever got tired of it. His wife got custody of my gun in the divorce. A Taurus PT945 that hammer bit the hell out of me. Found out since that a grip sleeve may change the grip angle enough that it might not happen again. Great gun but it's hard to keep something that makes you bleed every time you shoot it.
I've sold one I regret (a very early G-17), but I've sold plenty of dogs as well. I don't miss my Mini-14 or my one and only .40 pistol one bit.
