Have alwasy had something but now am limited to a Polaris 500 4x4 w/ a few mods.
Before I am old (as in within the next 3 years) I will ride again. Love those new cruiser bikes. Honda has a new one w/ 1800 cc engine. Forget the name.....V something or other I think. |

We had this thread a few months back. Anyway, I gotta Honda VT1100 Shadow Sabre which is cool. Box stock.
My last AR came from a guy who was selling to finance a Fat Boy. They are cool, but I would think twice about draining the gun collection to buy one. Try Delphi.com for a possible group devoted to people riding/owning your bike. |

I had a ZX-10 until I got married. My wife called it the suicycle and my mother called it the murdercycle. I had it a little over a year and put 9K miles on it, two front tires and three rears. I installed a jet kit, K&N's, a Yosh pipe, V&H timing kit, Barnett clutch, Lockhart windshield, and Metzlar tires. The little crotch rockets would eat it up in the tight stuff, but there is nothing like passing coming out of a sweeping turn at 110mph with the front tire a foot in the air. Man I really miss that bike!!!

I am into riding dirt bikes, rite now i have a 94 Yamaha WR500 2-stroke. The bike is realy fast, i have pulled wheelies in 5th gear before, but the power is very broad unlike a motocross bike, you dont realy need to rev the thing to make power. Its a realy great bike and was the last year yamaha made a open class bike.

Honda VFR700.
Congrats on your first bike. I think I was about your age when I got my first one. As far as modifications for your 250, don't do any and save for a 600 when you are ready. Main thing is make sure your tires are in good shape and properly inflated. Nothing will make as much difference. Good luck and have fun. |

Just sold my V45 Magna.
My cuz stopped by with his new HD Deuce. He had gotten it for a steal at $21,000.00. Took it for a ride and have never ridden anything sweeter, (with two wheels of course). 4 weeks later, I still can't get the smile off my mug. [}:D] Am holding out for one of my own. For some reason, [:\] I can't convince the wife we need to get one for the studio as a prop so we can deduct it as a biz expense.... |

99 KLR 650. Best bike commuter I"ve ever owned, cheap to buy and maintain, 50 mpg. Quick in and out of traffic, good for that occasional off road excursion when that %$!@ lady in the minivan just "oozes" into your lane.
[pissed] I rode a 250 Ninja a while back, neat machine. Cool mods: Stainless steel brake lines, any good stainless exhaust and carburetor rejet kit (might want to ride a while first for this one), and a Fox or White Power rear shock and front spring kit. Enjoy!! The Shooter |

Just picked up my 2001 BMW K1200RS, very fast, very smooth.
I had a BMW r90 for the longest time (at least 15 years) and I loved that bike to death, on a cross country trip I was riding through texas, a long straight stretch of road, damned if I didn't fall asleep while doing 75 mph (cruise control baby) I awoke with a start a few minutes later, that horizintal twin had kept me up like a gyroscope. I loved that bike. Hope the K1200rs is half the bike. |

1997 Yamaha Virago 750 cruiser, last year made. Great bikes, only 1 redsign in 16 years. Reliable as an anvil. I'm taking it to the North Georgia mountians in October. Doctorfireant's V-Star is what replaced the Viragos, they are way cool. The Honda that X-Kill mentioned is called a VTX, and it is the ultimate cruiser, as it has the power to match it's looks. 0-60 mph in 3.86 seconds, over 100 ft.lbs. of torque. Nothing H-D makes even comes close, and it's only $12,500. Awesome bike that does not feel overly large & heavy for such a big displacement engine.

I have a 2000 Harley Davidson FLSTC thats a Heritage Softail. I had a big bore kit installed that makes it a 95" or 1550cc with cams and a Screaming Eagle big bore carb tricked by Zippers a highpro company and had the heads polished. It has 85HP and 95LBS of torque at the rear wheel. Just turned 13K my SEXY wife and I rode 970 miles last weekend to Arkansas.

I'm currently restoring a 1986 Suzuki GS 1150E.
I had sold this bike in showroom condition 6 years ago, and I just found it in the classifieds and bought it again. It needs me now, it will be a while before it is pristine again. Really neat old bike, one of the first bikes to do a 10 second quarter mile, and looks great in the retro naked bike trend of today. I also have a 1988 Honda NX 650 dual sport for boonie excursions. |

99 Kawasaki Nomad, Road the Road King, nice, but uhh, Let's say I really like the Nomad. And since I'v had it, I think I'v only pulled into fill up 3 times and not been told what a nice looking bike it is. Second thought this is a great bike.

I have a stroked and bored 75 FLH. It's about 1500 cc, stock it was 1200. I run an Andrews B grind cam with a Super E metering the monkey piss we call gas. It's semi apart due to a transmition part breakinn at Angels Camp this year. I have it put back together but not buttoned up. I run stagered drag pipes and the 14" apes are in the garage waiting for me to rewire the front of my bike.

I have a 1984, I think, Kawasaki 750 spectre now, GREAT BIKE! Those 80's bikes, you just cant kill them. I put 17,000 on it in one year. Bought it in mint condition for $750. Guy said he had it in the tri-state swap sheet for 3 months and no-one even called on it but me!

98 TL1000R (too much plastic for my taste...) 90 GSXR-1100 racebike (riding position like a medieval instrument of torture, but if you ride it properly you're too exhilarated/scared/busy to notice) Honda XL250S - literally bought this one from under a pile of garbage. Crap 6V electrics made worse by the curious exposed/vulnerable placement of ignition coil/wires. Largest front tire diameter (23" hubs) of any bike I've ever seen.

I would heartily reccomend a V45 Magna to a beginner, it is easy to learn on due to the long wheelbase& low center of gravity, plus shaft drive is a bonus, and it is not so powerful as to throw you off the back, but it is close enough to scare you into thinking about your intentions. (i.e. Do I really need to go 120+mph)? Ed |

Well, I don't have any street bikes, but I do have a few off road bikes. These are not all mine, my two brothers and one of their wifes bikes are in there too. The kids are still too young, but we'll probably start them when they're between 3-4 yrs old.

I have a '99 Honda VFR800, and I bought a used Suzuki Hayabusa this weekend.
The Honda is awesome as an all-round bike but the power of the Hayabusa has to be experienced. It's a world different from any other bike I've ridden in terms of power. |
