I Lost 2 Carbines!
But I've gained 2 son in laws. All the kids know that when they get married, they will receive one of the AR's in my collection (of MY choosing) when they are ready for it. My daughters (one just married last month and the other married 18 months ago) have just informed me that they are ready to take their AR's home. Both have reminded me to include some mags as well. Seriously, I'm happy to have lost the carbines, and the 2 new sons are both great guys. Leaving the safe: Olympic Carbine with original heavy 11.5/5.5 barrel, collapsible stock and 3 Colt 20 rnd mags. PWA Carbine with M4 upper, Phantom FH, A1 length stock and 3 Colt 20 rnd mags. Easy come, easy go. ETA - Still along way to go... I have 8 children. |

Ammo and some range time would be nice too. |
Damn thats nice of you.
My FIL is starting to warm up to me. He send me home with 100 rounds of 30.06 LC match and another 80 round of 30.06 LC ball. No guns yet. |
Should I give them the keys to the car also? |
You could prolly get rid of the wife on ARFCOM if you threw in a carbine.......
just a thought. |
Oh brother, you just don't know. There will be one girl turning the legal age every 2.5 years, for the next 10 years! |
the Colts stay with me! |
Must not have cable TV, huh? |
Umm... No. But I've got something better |

TRAINING!!!!!!!!!!!
You can't go around giving AR's away without training. (and I hope you ran the transfers thru an FFL) |
Heresy! No, the girls get to keep them. |
They know what they're doing Transferred? FFL? Nope, this wasn't a straw purchase, it was a family gift. And none of the kids live in a slave state. |
I was more thinking if they get stolen, sold, used in a home defense, used in a crime etc etc, you want to be disassociated with the rifles. ( I know everyone wants to believe the marriage will last forever, and the in-laws would NEVER do anything but....experience says otherwise.) |
Hmm sure could use an AR. And I am not doing well on the women part. Got any other daughters I can marry. |
8 children?!! I can barely handle the 3 I've got. But I do love big families, I come from a family of 5 children, there was never a dull moment at home when we were all there. I am doing a variation of what you are doing. When my oldest son was born, I bought a NIB Colt nickel 38spl Python 8" BBL, he'll get that when he turns 21. For my middle daughter, I've got some gold Tiffany jewelry. For my youngest son, a unfired M1 Garand from the CMP. |
x2!! Let me know where I should submit my application. |
Let me guess.....Catholic upbringing and a leaky diaphram?? |

Good on you xanadu (hey that rhymes)
I'm working on getting my son inlaws Ars when I can afford it also. They both have places in the country and not bad hunting guns collections. But I would really like to see them have something defensive to protect my daughters and Grandchildren. GM |

My youngest (age 15) is working on being able to shoot her (formerly mine) Cav Arms with all metal parts Norrell's OD* "minute of gonad". Guys, you do NOT want to get her ticked off. * She lets me clean it. (Xanadu... too much estogen in your house! Yikes! I really feel for the little guy there. You and the big kid can fend for yourselves. Seriously, a fine looking family there!) |
Sorry LT, just had to laugh after reading some of your exploits over the past three years! |
I hope you are joking... Also send them home with a case of Tannerite! |
Nope....not joking. See explanation above. |

What happens in the event of divorce? Just being realistic in this day and age.
Not until you see how well they treat the weapons first! |
The home and land I now own I got at bank foreclosure because the daughter married this guy, and then they got divorced, and now the father is pizzed cuz the land is outside the family. Used car loans last longer than many mariages today, unfortunately. I ain't saying don't give the gift.......I'm saying "realize you are giving a gift that could cause YOU a world of hurt." |
I tell you what I told your son, they're too young but then to me they all are.
Congrats and glad you survived. BTW, going to be around 60 here today! Tj |
She gets the lower |
Tks TJ, we'll get up to 30 by this afternoon! |

AR-15 in the dowry. Interesting. |
I'm hoping you have seen the movie "The Blues Brothers" otherwise my post will seem extremely inappropriate. |
And how.... Tho I'm not sure how seeing a movie would make such a comment appropriate. Maybe thats just me. |

I did see it, about 15years ago, and I think I slept through parts of it. No offense taken, I got it the first time. |
