Ok, so I just got a Canon PowerShot A610 for Christmas. This thing ROCKS. It has more features than I know what to do with right now. I was messing around with shutterspeeds and such and took this picture in macro-mode.

5.0 megapixels, Shutter at 0.8 seconds, F-stop at 2.8, exposure compensation +1, auto-white balance, no flash, in just a dimly lit bedroom.

So I don't really know what I'm doing with the more advanced stuff like F-stop and shutter and such. I was just messing around. Anyone got a good site on digital photography?

You have a small nick in that projectile that will throw your trajectory off

Haha sure do. I pulled that bullet from a bad Korean .30-06 cartridge. I actually have two sitting on my desk.

Cool picture.

Have you checked out our own Photo Forum? The guys that hang out there really know their stuff.

dpreview has a whole bunch of forums. I just got a little digital camera myself, just a little point and shoot. I have a 35mmSLR and simply cannot go back to shooting film anymore. I am in the process of deciding what to replace it with. I was thinking about a compact digicam like the sony R1 but since I am already quite familier with photography I might find it limiting. I'm hoping my current lenses will fit the canon rebel.

Your going to have fun!!! I resisted the digital revolution for a long time, I'm such a retrogrouch!
