I have spent a number of years now researching, watching, debating and most of all realizing.
There are a few out there who are of the opinion that we have lost all chance of bringing this country around by peaceful means. They are not cooks but people in positions you would not suspect. They are leaders of organizations which you may be a part of and not be aware.
I have stuck my nose out a few times in order to learn and what I see is frieghtening.
I am starting to believe that the chances of revitalizing this democratic republic have slipped through our hands.
Many of the people who I speak to, who are on our side, are just waiting and then they will come to action. That is exactly what the opposition wants. Keep waiting and if you wait long enough there is no chance of winning. How many times have you heard that throughout history?
Are there any of you out there that truly believe we can win back our freedom through the ballot box or the cooperation of the courts?

No document. Democratic Republic meaning all power is vested in the people.
If by taught you mean reading thousands of hours of Constitutional law and history for the last 20 something years?

Nick1950, who & what organizations are you talking about?  I'm not trying to be a smartass, just curious.  As far as the ballot box goes, post this topic after the 2002 elections.

Sorry to say we are past the point of peaceful restoration.

This country was intended to be a constitutional republic.  The Constitution, not the "will of the people" was to control what the govt. can and cannot do.

America is in no way a democracy not even a   democratic republic , we are and alwas have been just a republic.

Over the past 30 years we get more and more like a democracy and that is why not one damn thing can ever get done.

Most people don't want to talk about it now but it's really just a left Vs. right thing.
The sad thing is that the American people really are fine, we don't buy the left wing bull it's just the press and pther left wing nuts (naacp, aclu, ect) that keep us thinking that the crap they do in DC is what people really give a damn about.
Well it's not at all what Americans care about most of us are just great it's our "leders that are off the deep end.

This dose not mean that we need to fight some war, some meany people think they know some thing that no one eles knows and that is the way it has alwas been to this is not knew at all. The only thing we need to do is what we have been doing after Bush got in office, no more CNN no more NBC no more ABC no more CBS!
Network news is in bad shape today, no one cares for them after we got to see them show there ass lasst year.
This what you get after all of these year of left wing bull, if they can't get in to our homes and mines then people will not be fooled again.
if we pay our cards right we can win the hole damn thing right here.
This is what we wanted for so long, for others to see how full of crap the libs are.
Well now we have a very nice start but if we don't get off of this hopeless trip it will pass us by.

uncleSam - I would not say who because I'm not sure if it was meant to be a confidence so I'd rather not say. I do belong to a number of organizations involved in the gun and tax movement.
bdkn - You are absolutely correct this is supposed to be a "Constitutional Republic."   "All laws repugnent to the Constitution are null and void." Marbury v. Madison. I happen to believe in that but don't you think that has changed? A few things have happened to change that and at least one, we know, was perpetrated as a fraud. The 17th amendment which took the appointment of Senators out of the hand of the state legislature and governor went to a direct vote. That action alone completely changed the landscape of this republic.
a2car - I agree with you that we are acting more and more like a democracy. My question should probably have been can we stop this mess from completely going away what our Founding Fathers intended.

There is currently no chance in the foreseeable future that this country will be restored to a Constitutional Republic.

As long as there are more net tax receivers than there are net tax donors, the situation will only get worse.  As long as the 'Socialist agenda' is being promulgated by all main sources of information, it will only get worse.

IF you have any doubts, look at the WTO protesters, these people are the Socialist stormtroopers and are now actively in the streets literally rioting to destroy the principles of the Republic.
