Just got the above flashlight and after 5 minutes of playing with it, no more light??

Pushed the button and it worked, 5 seconds later it didn't.

Any ideas?

It's only been out of the package for 5 minutes.

This sucks!

My Surefire G2 just quit like that when the batteries died, I had been playing with it longer than 5 minutes though.. but you might try fresh batteries and see if it works.

Unfortunately I don't have any spare batteries here. Maybe the batteries in the smoke detector are the same.

Update, just tried the batteries in another flashlight and they are fine. Put the batteries from the other flashlight in the Surefire and nothing.

Will call them Monday I guess.

Did you have to cut the tape?  Maybe the place you bought it from had been playing with it and now the batteries are dead.  Hopefully, it's just the batteries.

You mean the tape on the package? Yes, Wife bought it from Surefire online.

I got a Gladius that was sealed in its carrying case. The light went out after 10 minutes of use....simple change of the batteries fixed it.

Contacted SureFire today and they are sending me out a new bulb free of charge. Hopefully that fixes it.

Your Surefire has a voltage regulator in it. I'm presuming your other flashlight doesn't. I'm betting it's the batteries. Call Surefire back and buy a box of 12 batteries for $15.

Bravo Sierra.

The E2D does not have any type of regulation.  Hell, the only Surefire incan light with regulation is the A2 Aviator.

It might be the batteries, but I would wait to order them until they send out the bulb because they are not cheap and it WILL burn out some day soon.  Getting a free one could never hurt

The Surefire batteries DO have regulation build in, and they are know to give a little warning, then just go - probably due to the regulation in the battery

Well the batteries I ordered from Surefire on the 23rd of Dec arrived today. I tried to swap out the batteries to see if that was it and the answer is NO.

Contacted Surefire again and was told 2 MORE WEEKS before I can expect my replacement bulb.

This has me pretty much set against ever getting a Surefire product again.

I have a low hour Z2 and the bulb blew out.

I have an older 9Z that has been going for YEARS on the same bulb.

Sounds like you are just having really bad luck. In terms of parts availability and customer service my experience with them has been nothing but excellent.

if you're desperate for a new bulb now, try some of the sporting goods stores in the area.  the sportsmans warehouse near me carries surefire lamps.

We got issued Surefires a few years back...  they're crap, I leave it in the car for personal use and put my old-school Mag light in my pack to fly with.

Whatever Silentrod, You wanna pay over 100 bucks for a light go ahead.  What's good and works for some doesn't work for others.  Never had trouble finding a new bulb for a mag light though...

Have a nice day,

P.S.
Space Shuttle...  Try HH60!

Bad batteries? Surefires just stop dead when the battery goes.

Neat light!

That was a shocker to me!  I thought mine just quit working.  Swapped the batteries and all was well!  Glad you're back flashing now.
